Description

There's been a massive amount of interest but surprisingly the Aristo is still here, without any genuine new owner coming to see it yet!
It's been reduced it by 600 pounds! He's open to sensible offers to ensure it's sold to a good home but please be aware several offers of 3k+ have been automatically rejected without consideration so making low bids of anything less than that will be wasting your time. As said there's slight room to negotiate for people who are genuinely interested in owning a great car.
Anyway onto the advert
Welcome to the sale of a very rare and understated luxury Saloon- 2000 (JZS161) JDM Toyota Aristo V300 Vertex edition 2JZ-GTE twin turbo.
I'll start off by saying I'm advertising this on behalf of a close friend, I persuaded him to buy it in the first place but like many spontaneous purchases involving cars, he's now thought about his situation and decided that it's not viable so it is now reluctantly for sale.
I've personally owned 2 Aristo's (I still own one) and they're without doubt one of the most comfortable and highly spec'd daily drivers that you're likely to own, regardless of price. With having experience with these cars I'm helping him with the sale and I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.
If you're not familiar with these cars they are the same base as the Lexus G3S00 model except they -along with Supra's- were the only production cars fitted with the world renowned 2JZ-GTE twin turbo engine.
This model (JZS161) were equipped with the last version of the engine which also had VVTi (variable valve timing) and an increase in torque, making this a very rare and capable car.
If performance is the purpose for your ownership then basic upgrades (fuel cut, de-cat, increase boost) will quickly increase the power to around 400bhp with tons of torque, owners are regularly running 600+ bhp on stock bottom ends and standard transmissions are equipped for around 500bhp with correct cooling so they're a "very quick family car" even by today's top end saloon standards.
Supras using the same engine (yes Aristo's were the original cars to use the 2JZ) are being built to use over 1000bhp so the potential is massive.. This car however has always been used for cruising by older owners until recently and the current owner definitely isn't a boy racer so it's a genuine unmolested example and the engine will handle pretty much what you can throw at it.
Build quality is on par with the best of it's time and the trim level is comparable to car's just coming off the production line, which is why they are very popular amongst enthusiasts in the "VIP" scene.

This Aristo has been specified with almost every optional extra from the dealership..
Notable details:
Tiptronic gearbox- This can be used as full auto for everyday motoring or switched to manual mode and controlled on the steering wheel by a push of a button.. This is not a gimmick- the controls are very responsive and in full auto mode it's very smooth and changes gear efficient and rapidly.. Certainly not like the auto box you may have in your mind if you've never driven one! These only came in tiptronic auto but trust me you'll never bother owning a manual again.
Full grey leather interior with heated front electronically adjustable seats- Overall in very nice clean condition, no obtrusive damage. Cream carpets and interior plastics are also very respectable and although the black interior is the obvious choice I feel this is a classy option and a perfect combination with the blue coachwork.
It has been well looked after and everything works as it should. There are a few things worth mentioning- The rear view mirror must have been displaced so it has been re-situated but is fully functional, you may want to re-mount it in it's original position though ideally. The driver's side matt has also been replaced with a grey equivalent rather than a matching cream one.
Touchscreen Sat-Nav head unit- MK2 Aristo's came with touchscreen HU's from the factory as optional extras, heater control's are also integrated into this and are fully functional by your finger tips. Although the OEM Japanese Sat-Nav is redundant on all models that are imported, this car has an aftermarket Clarion Sat-Nav system, there's also a OEM 6-disc multi-changer and with having a generously sized screen there's also the option of fitting a digital box to this to enable television viewing.
JBL sound system- These are on par with Mark Levinson (on UK GS models) optionals and are a vast improvement over the stock Pioneer speaker system.
Air purifier- The original owner also specified the rare air purifier system, which would have cost a fortune new, hence the reason why they're so scarce.
In addition to the above it comes fitted with a/c, dual climate control, electric sunroof, electric windows x4, electric heated mirrors, cruise control, remote central locking and HID headlights.
The car itself...
The paintwork is overall in very good condition for it's age and polishes up fantastically well for the majority, however like any 15 year old car there are some minor imperfections There are a few small parking marks including one on the roof and bumper as mentioned, a few scuffs and scratches here and there as to be expected and a small bubbling of paintwork above the windscreen. There is no rust anywhere to be found on the car and all arches are immaculate.
There is a crack in one of the rear lights but replacements have been purchased (see further down).
Apart from the Mazda RX8 wheels (which compliment the car in my opinion), reverse sensors and turbo timer, the car is completely standard and untouched.
It will come with a set of 2001+ updated oem rear lights to replace the stock cracked one, these are a nice upgrade from the standard pre 2001 variants. I may be able to get around to fitting them for him depending on how long it's for sale but it's a very straight forward procedure.
Onto the service and ownership history of the car..
The first owner of this car in the UK was an Arabian diplomat whom imported the car himself at considerable expense. It was apparently fastidiously maintained and I'm sure the servicing of the car was carried out meticulously as the current condition testifies to it, however most of the physical evidence of this has been misplaced as so often happens unfortunately.
The elderly gentleman who owned this car for eleven years after him did keep some record of servicing and has clearly also maintained the car to a good standard.
The cambelt was changed last year at 128km.
It has a CAT1 Toad alarm and immobiliser, which was professionally fitted.
It was also fitted with a brand new battery last year along with various other maintenance work carried out including servicing and tyre replacements.
Mechanically- as I'm sure you're aware these are brilliant cars, they're not the most economical (definitely not the worst) but they're very reliable and this one is no different. It won't matter where you're travelling from or to during your ownership, this will get you there effortlessly every time.. Again though this is a used car and will need a few things rectifying to make perfect;
The rear silencers have been welded, they don't blow but it was noted on the last MOT so you might want to replace these for stainless steel items for longevity at some point.
There was a split in the PAS cooler earlier this year and it has been replaced with a good quality oil hose, however it can come with the stock replacement if you'd prefer to fit it.
Although it states in the MOT notes that the ARS (active rear steer) is faulty, there are no warning lights and if you've owned/know about these then you'll be aware that this is a common problem and the light can illuminate intermittently. This is remedied either by a lock-out bar or swap for a G3S00 non-ARS subframe. It has been driven regularly for the past few weeks and has caused no problems but depending on your level of knowledge on these cars it's worth mentioning at least for transparency if nothing else.
I can honestly say none of the above "bad points" detract from the overall aesthetics, reliability or performance of the car, it's a very clean example and one I'd happily own myself if I didn't already own one. I doubt very much that you'll find a nicer one for the price either but I like to be descriptive and completely honest to avoid confusion and to ensure a smooth hassle-free sale for everyone involved.
Due to the minor imperfections he's willing to accept £4,800 ono considering what these are going for and how much it would cost to import one yourself it's a fair value but he is prepared to listen to sensible offers considering the minor work needed.
Silly offers won't be entertained so no timewasters please, he doesn't mind tyre kickers as long as they've got cash in their hands to negotiate You'll be buying a good car and with a little time and money invested this will make a superb example.
Viewing by appointment is highly recommended, he's based in the centre of Nottingham (JC26 M1) so it's only a short distance from the train station and not too far away from the motorway itself.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or if you want to have a look with a view to buy.
Cheers
