1995 Toyota Hiace 4WD 3.0TD Automatic Super Custom Long Wheel Base Campervan

Much sought after and rare (originally imported in 2005) Japanese factory converted, right hand drive, automatic, 4 wheel drive, hightop roof version of the Hiace Super Custom Campervan in the desirable and hard to find light metallic green.
I have been specialising in sourcing, restoring and selling rare, classic Japanese 4WD campers for a few years now and to date I have not come across another 4WD Hiace for sale with this colour and spec.
The camper comes with a great versatile designed layout that can seat 4 passengers in the rear facing forwards, all with seat belts. The larger rear seat can then be switched to face backwards via the rock n roll lever mechanism creating a dining area for 4 people.
The rear seats lay flat and with the addition of further cushions create a spacious double bed. There is also a neat platform in the overhead compartment that slides out to create a further double bed, this compartment when not in use has a net cover so could serve as further storage area to possibly hold bedding etc.
To the rear of the van you have a galley area with 2 burner gas hob stove and sink with fresh and waste water tanks plus fridge freezer.
There is also space to add a porta-potti loo should you wish.
The camper is equipped with a huge amount of storage space including cupboards, wardrobe and over head bunk space. There is also a roof vent and 2 sky lights with fly screens and blinds plus curtains to each window for privacy.
A brand new leisure battery powers the internal appliances, lights and electric points etc but you also have the option of running off mains electric with an external hook up pointhook up extension power cable is also included plus original Toyota tool pouch.
Also featured to the outside of the camper is a great Omnistar wind out awning and bike rack to the rear.
There is plenty of space for adding a solar panel and control unit should you wish to convert the van for off grid use.
The rear camper section also has it's own heating and air conditioning system for complete comfort no matter what the weather.
When it comes to the reliability of the engine, then you can do no better than the bulletproof, powerful and incredibly torquey 3.0 1KZ-TE turbo diesel engine with fulltime 4WD plus manual overdrivewhich means you wont be getting stuck in wet and muddy camping fields and can really explore those hard to reach places that other campers simply cannot reach!
At the time of production, this was the best engine that Toyota made and as such is still championed today.
It was also used in the Toyota Hilux Surf and some Landcruiser models which are obviously world renowned for their long lasting performance and reliability and will often reach 500,000 miles with no problem as long as they are looked after, so this engine with it's mere 130,000 miles on the clock is basically just getting run in!
Over the last few months we have lavished almost £4000 ($5500) on the camper ensuring it is up to the standard we would be happy to receive it in, including a full service with additional replacement of rear main oil seal plus gearbox fluid and engine oil renewal.
The sills (which are prone to corrosion on the Hiace's) were replaced/welded as were sections of the arches that needed attention and then the camper was sent off to the bodyshop where the lower section of the camper was resprayed in original light metallic green as was the fibreglass high top roof as it was looking a little sun faded in places.
As you can hopefully see from the photos (I have more available via Dropboxplease see details below) the camper is now looking great and will serve the new owner well for many years to come.
Besides the mechanics and bodywork of the van we have just recently treated it to a full exterior and interior valet including shampooing of all upholstery, door cards and head linings giving the new owner a perfectly fresh, clean and hygenic space to start camping adventures in.
Also, prior to my ownership and having covered approx 120,000 miles, it had the head gasket rebuilt (replaced with new head set, gasket, thermostat) plus new cambelt at a cost of £900 ($1250)
The van comes with a clean bill of health and no advisories plus some paperwork and receipts for work carried out.
A superb chance to own what is a great condition for year, super reliable and rare 4WD campervan that will no doubt get you looks of admiration wherever you go, plus if looked after will represent a great investment for years to come as these desirable campers are constantly appreciating in value.
