Description
For sale, my Toyota Hiace super custom. 2.5 turbo diesel, auto (232000km mileage and speedo still in km)i have owned this vehicle for around 2 years now but have just bought a new van and no longer need the Toyota. I have used this van almost daily for the time i have owned it. Upon renewing the MOT recently it needed quite a lot of work, but rather than scrapping her as most do with these vans i decided to save her. And so, she has recently had:
fuel pump rebuild, all seals renewed. (leakage is a common fault on these fuel pump as no one changes the seals, I have with this one)turbo rebuild, ( brass bearings, o-rings, exhaust side oil seal, mechanical seal, compressor wheel securing nut) as on inspection the play was almost allowing the compressor wheel to touch the housing.gates cam belt and water pump.2x new alternator beltsbrand new injectorsbrand new glow plugsre-cored radiator, delete of air con condenser and secondary radiator to allow more air flow to the primary radiator as i had read these are prone to overheating.new flexy lines to auto oil cooler in radiator.engine flush, oil change and filter change. 10w30 recommended oil.water jacket/cooling system flush and new 5 year coolant.front shock absorbers.front upper ball jointsfront anti roll bar bushes and drop links.rear anti roll bar end bushes.EGR deleted.when i first bought the van it also got:
turbo- back full stainless steel exhaust system4 brand new tyres, all of which have lots of tread left, and no cracking. The rears are commercial type heavy load tyres so no nee to worry if your carrying lots of weight.minor service including engine oil change and filter, new coolant thermostat, rear differential oil renewed and magnetic drain plug installed. Now for the very few bad points, im being completely honest here,
small transmission oil leak, however it is very small and i haven't been able to locate it.i think there may be a fualt with either the coolant temperature sensor or the pre-heater timer for the glow plugs as if the engine is cold the coil does not stay lit long enough and it runs terrible on start up. However! ive found if i light the coil up three times in a row before cranking the engine, she starts up first turn of the starter and runs perfectly.i have no doubt this would be an easy fix but im currently converting an MR2 to manual and don't have time to fiddle about with the van.there is no radio installed.some rust on the drivers side sill which i have pictured which was an advisory on the last MOT (as was the oil leak), would probably cost £100 to put right.surface rust on boot lid.only one key.So thats about it, just to add, this vans engine, gearbox and differential are actually shared with a lot of the old toyota hilux', and are pretty much bomb proof if looked after properly. This one wasn't but has been put right and will make a very nice van for somebody for the summer.
No doubt i have forgotten to mention something but if you have any questions just drop me any email and i will reply ASAP.
Thanks for looking.
