Description
You are bidding on a HIGHLY fuel efficient and mechanically sound 2006 Toyota Highlander Sport Utility 4D 2WD 2.4L 4 Cylinder in Light Sky Blue exterior with Tan interior that has just been fully serviced at our local Fred Anderson Toyota in Charleston, SC. Mechanically everything on the car is up to date and fully working including Tires, brakes, fluids, engine, battery, radio, CD player, all lights, AC, and starter. This car comes with the Tow Prep package and can tow up to 3,000 lbs. I am not aware of anything not functioning on the car and it just underwent a full servicing and 120 multipoint inspection at the Toyota dealership. I have gone into full detail below about the inspection. This car has almost all highway miles and was always serviced by Toyota every 3,000-5,000 miles (oil changes and ALL recommended service). It was used for work doing property management and traveling 100+ miles a day was very normal and the car was always full serviced by Toyota as it needed to be 100% functional all the time. I have never had a major problem with the car ie engine or transmission or mechanical failure where the car would not operate.
The vehicle has power windows and locks, power DRIVER side only seat, CD player, cassette player, ice cold AC - fully working, dual airbags, ABS brakes, and traction control. The car is light blue with tan interior cloth. The official option list includes:
Fog Lamps - $110
8-way Power Driver/4 Way Manual Passenger Seats - $41-
Rear Privacy Glass - $310
Tow Prep Package - $160
Tow Prep Package includes Transmission/Power Steering/engine oil coolers, heavy duty radiator, 120 watt fan coupling, trailer prewire, 30 amp alternator, 3000 pound towing capacity. It also has the optional wood grain interior trim which give it a nice look. It also has cruise control to make those road trips a little easier.
Carpet and Trunk Mat - $245
Toyoguard Plus - $699
Car also has wood grain interior that was installed by the dealer and not listed but was an additional option.
Car also has a roof rack that has never been used.
Original MSRP - $27,137.35
Cigarette lighter for charging your electronics - fully working. All interior lights work including in the dash and everywhere else. 2 Remote key-fob entry and lock (still works) plus a physical main key and emergency backup physical key. The rear seats fold down almost completely flat for extra storage. The car "technically" has had 2 owners but it was within the same family and always only driven by 2 people.
During the last servicing done 10/22/14 it received the following: Brand new battery, new gas cap, new power steering fluid, new windshield. Everything else is fully functional. I have gone into a more detailed list below inlcluding UPCOMING SERVICE NEEDS for the next 30,000 miles according to Toyota.
During the 120 multipoint inspection by Toyota - the following were found to be in GOOD/Green/Highest Rating working order:
Front/Rear Brake Linings - ALL 4 are Green/Good in report (highest rating) = MORE than 40% remaining
Check Tires/Tread Depth - ALL 4 are Green/Good in report (highest rating) = 6/32" or greater
Check Battery Performance - Green/Good highest rating
ALL of the BELOW GREEN/GOOD/HIGHEST RATING - checked by Toyota Service:
Washer Fluid
Transmission Fluid
Brake Fluid
Power Steering Fluid (was replaced)
Coolant
Engine oil
4X4 Transfer Case, front drive axle, and clutch reservoir fluids (truck only)

UPCOMING NEEDS: I spoke to a service representative that gave me a heads up on what to expect over the next 30,000 miles:
5,000 miles - in the next 5,000 miles or so, Toyota recommended "Clean fuel injectors and perform induction service" They stated this will help with the long term maintenance, preservation and performance of the vehicle.
20,000-30,000 miles - They recommended a diligent oil change every 3,000-5,000 miles and in doing so will keep the vehicle running at top performance. In the next 20,000-30,000 miles the car will need a Timing Cover replacement. This is simply due to the age/mileage of the car and something most cars of this age/mileage will need - just depends if the seller will actually tell you.
Cosmetically the car is a 2006 and does have some scratches and I have tried to note or take pictures as much as possible.
- There is a scratch over 1 foot on the passenger side quarter panel
- The bumper has a small dent on the passenger side and also has several scratches.
- The bottom daytime/fog light lens are cracked however still fully functional
- The interior has some surface scratches on the dash and elsewhere that I have tried to photograph
- I just noticed that 1 of 2 of the license plates lights are out. However one is still functional and lights the plate - this just occurred.
I believe you are bidding on a fantastic used car that has been well maintained and serviced and will provide many more years of use. If you are looking for a super fuel efficient SUV - THIS IS THE ONE - It starts and stops with the 2.4L Highlander as with the combination of size, weight, and smaller displacement engine - yields a MPG unmatched by any current models unless you start looking at more expensive Hybrid's. It provides plenty or cargo space and room for the whole family. This car has everything you need including some creature comforts like CD player, cruise control, and power driver's seat, windows, and locks and remote entry.
If you have any questions or would like to schedule a 3rd party inspection, I would be happy to help.
