Description
1985 Toyota landcruiser 60 series extra cab ute
Vehicle has travelled less than 5000 kms since it was fully rebuilt (although most of this has been in the bush)
Powered by a 302 windsor it is connected to the landcruiser 5 spd box via a marks adapter kit and a heavy duty F100 clutch assembly. The engine is controlled by an ICE ignition systems dizzy, CDI unit, leads and coil. Stainlees steel headers lead to a custon dual 2 1/2 inch into single 3 inch stainless steel exhaust system. Fuel is supplied by twin gas tanks mounted up high under tray and fed to the engine by a gas research carby, A new high powered alternator has been installed to charge the dual battery system.
Batteries are mounted on custom stainless steel trays in engine bay, both batteries are ultima deep cycle units. Every accessory installed is wired and fused correctly. There are gauges for everything installed in the cabin. The engine is kept cool by a large custom radiator and twin thermo fans (I have never had heating problems even in the bush on the hottest of days). The transfer case has been rebuilt and customised for better gearing using and automatic transfer gears and a manual shift assembly which eliminates the the issues caused by vaccuum actuators failing. Tailshafts have been recently reconditioned.
Both front and rear diffs have been rebuilt and are running ARB air lockers. there is an onboard ARB air compressor mounted behind the drivers seat to provide air for the lockers.Suspension was replaced at the time of the build and consists of tough dog 2" lifted springs, extended greasable shackles, tough dog shocks, RTC damper and all new bushes. Front and rear brakes were new at time of build along with all brake hoses.
The body chop, barwork and steel tray were done by myself, I am a ticketed welder fabricator with 20+ years experience, all work has been done to a high standard with no expense spared. Wheels and tyres are near new black sunraysias with 35" silverstone extreme mud tyres. If you do manage to get stuck there is a 1200lb ironman winch installed up front to assist.
The 60 is currently registered until december and has an engineers report for the motor and body chop. To roadworthy you will most likely need to install smaller tyres and change the extended shackles back to standard (I will provide a near new set of standard greasables to go with the truck). I don't have time to organise the roady.
I am only selling this beast to inject a bit more cash into my 80 series so I am not interested in silly offers however if you have a toy your bored with drop me an email. If you are serious and would like to know more please send an email with any questions.
