Description
This Land Cruiser presented for sale is a European spec LJ-73 LX. It is powered by a 2.4 Liter 2L-T Turbo Diesel engine that produces 91 HP and 138 Ft-Lb torque while maintaining an average of 18 MPG. The engine in the Land Cruiser is the same power-plant used in the 1988 Toyota Hilux that was featured as the "The Indestructible Truck” on the popular British television series Top Gear. The Cruiser achieves 81 MPH flat out.
This model is equipped with the Fibre Reinforced Plastic top, which is removable and comes off with just a couple bolts. The interior is very well kept with only minor defects. The Land Cruiser’s equipment list includes power steering, radio, a heater, a CB radio, a cassette player (non-working, however the speakers all work well), and many convenience upgrades including remote power locks and Bluetooth. It sits on nice BF Goodrich mud tires and features a front bull bar.
The Toyota feels secure on the road at any speed and drives as a truck should. The gears shift with incredible ease, the steering keeps you solidly in control, and the cars stops well and straight. It feels very comfortable and holds momentum with ease. This Cruiser came stock with coil springs on all four corners, keeping the ride less harsh than its leaf sprung counterparts. It’s fitted with an aftermarket German intercooler, adding some extra horsepowers and torques to the strong turbo diesel.
I imported this truck myself from Poland, and after having driven dozens of different 4x4s, this was hands down the most comfortable and easy to drive. It was previously owned by a Land Cruiser enthusiast who lived in a little town by the Baltic Sea and had a collection of these cars. He restored this particular car over a couple of years in his spare time, and used it as his personal vehicle in the summer time.
