I've owned this vehicle for several years now. It has been brilliant in that time. Last year, I drove it down to the south of France and back and it didn't skip a beat. Totally comfortable and reliable both on and off road. It is a fantastic vehicle, and I'll be very sorry to see it go. Sadly, due to financial circumstances I must sell it.
Good things:
It was imported from Japan in 1999, so it is of a higher spec than the UK versions.A/C is working, including the refrigerated cool box (driven from the A/C) that comes with an ice tray for ice cubes on the go. Yes, it has an ice maker!No rust on the chassis, only very slight surface corrosion in places.Interior in very good conditionEngine is superb. Even after sitting for 5 years, it started on the first crank (after a thorough going over first!). Doesn't use water or oil.Recently serviced (by me, I'm more highly qualified to service an engine than most automotive mechanics so it's safe to say I know what I'm doing)Only 112,000 miles (please note, the speedometer is in KM so reads 177,000)Full length aluminium roof rack and stainless steel rear access ladderStainless steel light bar with 4x spotlights - this was included when I bought it. I've never fitted it (you'll notice it's conspicuously absent in the photos), it appears as if the loom is still in the engine bay - but I've never connected it up. There is some rusting on the spotlights.Currently untaxed, but I'll put 6 months on for the buyer.6 months left on MOT.Fitted a switch to lock up the torque converter in any gear so you can drive it like a manual if you wish and get better economy. It is a 21 year old vehicle, there are scuff marks and imperfections. That said, it's been very well looked after and is very tidy for the age.The bonnet has been repaired at some point. The paintwork is a little mismatched.Front bumper has the colour flaking off in places. A can of black paint will correct it.The exhaust is 'interesting' in places. I expect a new one will be needed soon. I was quoted £240 by National tyres and exhausts to supply and fit a new one.Some corrosion on the alloy wheels. I'm sure someone with some time could get them shiny again if you so wished.Electric windows are a bit slow. Reading around on the net, it seems you can remove the guides and wash them to cure this.
As I've said above, it is a 21 year old vehicle - I've put up as many photos as eBay will let me, but viewing is still highly recommended.
It is located in Langport in Somerset. Payment by cash or bank transfer. In the case of the latter, the funds need to be cleared and in my account before I will release the vehicle. The price point is hard to judge with this, so I am open to offers.
I will consider delivering at £0.60/mile, or meeting at a mid point.
