Description

A 1991 MR2 import T-bar with a F355 kit. I bought this car ready built from a guy who chose the import model as it was a very clean car and it comes with all of the extras like air conditioning (Which works!) tilt steering, electric windows and mirrors and central locking.
The kit is fitted well and finished in the correct shade of Ferrari Rosso Red that a F355 of this year would have been sprayed. Unfortunately there's some chips on the front and a bit of paint flaking on the driver side door sill (see images) these parts could be resprayed for not a lot of money, or even touched up using some rosso red touch up paint.
The rear wheels are 18 inch BMW wheels held on with 4 inch spacers, and the front wheels are 17 inch BMW alloys held on with 2 inch spacers. This will allow you to change the wheels if you like as BMW wheels are cheap and freely available with lots of different styles. It also means there are plenty of tyres available and usually in stock at most places. The rear tyres are new and the front tyres are in very good condition.
T bar sunroof just like the GTS allowing the car to be used all year. Roof off in the summer (as I have been doing) and roof on when the wet stuff falls.
The car is taxed until the end of August 2014 so I have accounted for the price of tax in the price of the car. MOT ends 19th Nov 2014 so it's ready to go, the MOT in Nov 2013 was done in Northern Ireland where they have much tighter and stricter MOT tests than the UK.
This can be insured as a kit car so very cheap, or if you want normal fully comp insurance it's still cheap! My insurer (Admiral) simply said that it has a "non-standard bodykit" so in the event of a claim they would pay out on what the original car is worth without the bodykit, but they have noted that it is a Ferrari replica and I am comprehensively insured.
Dual twin exhaust outlets at the rear, and this REALLY DOES sound amazing! I can't seem to get a good enough video of the sound on my phone so it's something that's got to be heard in person to be believed, it has a nice low but loud rumble as you accelerate!
Fully badged
Interior is lovely cream leatherette with black piping, the horses on headrests are professionally stitched into the material (not stickers!)
Aftermarket steering wheel
Radio cassette player with 6 CD changer in the boot, though I've never used this, I don't know how to get it to work but I am used to listening to the sound of the engine anyway!
(or at least Radio 1 if I'm in the mood for music)
Engine is 2 litre naturally aspirated (These are proven to sound much better in replicas than the turbo versions) with K&N air filter. This car has had frequent servicing done since it was imported by the previous owner in 2010.
This car turns heads wherever it goes. People are forever taking photographs. If you are shy or don't like attracting attention then this is not the car for you. It fools more people than I expected, most are shocked when I tell them it's a kit car based on a Toyota! A run to the shops no longer takes 5 minutes, you will be stopped and asked all sorts of questions.
The car comes with lots of spares, extra glass roofs, extra badges and some electrical and engine spares
Have the Italian looks with the Toyota reliability
This is a hand built car, it is not a factory built supercar so it will have its little querks There is some cracking at the door but it's hairline and very hard to see. Drivers seat tore at the seam but this has been stitched back together by previous owner (see images). Come see it and let me take you for a drive. I use this as my daily driver but I've recently got a new job and looking to save to move out now, so I'm having to revert to using a completely boring car :(
This is a 1991 MR2 with a body kit fitted by the previous owner to resemble an exotic car. It is not a factory built car or a car from an assembly line, it is a 23 year old car. The car is GREAT, I absolutely love it to bits, though it drives like a car from 1991, it handles like a car that's been around for 23 years, there are things you might not like, there are things you will change and there are things you will live with, it's all about taste. For example it clunks into 2nd gear sometimes, but I've learnt to drive it so it doesn't do that. Do not to come just for a test drive or to kick tyres because I don't have much spare time so it would be better off not wasted. If you can't come to see the car then I will answer all of your questions and send you any more pictures you require.
The log book says there are NO PREVIOUS OWNERS! This is because it was imported to N.IRELAND from Japan in 2010, but it wasn't registered in N.I until the guy had finished building it in 2011. I bought the car in 2014 and had to transfer the car to the UK DVLA, so once you send the log book off you will be owner number 2 on the logbook, with it showing 1 previous owner.
The car shows 118290 Km (which is 73500 miles) and this will go up because I use this car as my daily to and from work.
The WATER PUMP and CAMBELT were changed on 19/04/14 at approx 68000 miles, the water pump seal was weeping a bit and it's silly not to replace the pump and belt while you have them off! The power steering system (pump, relays, Power Steering ECU etc) can also be a common problem, parts have been replaced to fix and prevent this common problem.
Please ask as many questions as you need and I will answer them all let me know if you need any more pictures.
