Description
Toyota MR2 roadster in silver.I bought this car from a friend last
year. My friend in turn had it from new in 2001. It's a very tidy car
and comes with:
full service history (13 stamps)
huge pile of receipts back to the original sales receiptall past MOTs back to 2004low mileage (currently 62,349 but still in regular use)It's just had new brake discs and pads on the front (last month), a new lamda sensor at the end of last year and a new universal steering joint within the last couple of years.
The tyres are in good condition with around 5mm tread on each corner and the soft top's in immaculate condition.
Technically the car is an import but it's right-hand drive, originally registered in the UK and I've found that it's no different to insure than a UK car.
The car has air conditioning (not standard on all roadsters) and the fitting kit for a hard top (usually around £200 if bought separately, I think). I will be selling the matching hard top separately but will give first refusal to whoever buys the car – I'll be looking for £300 for that + £50 for the stand and cover too.
You'll notice from the pictures that the aerial's currently permanently up. I have bought a replacement with the motor unit but haven't got around to fitting it yet so will include this with any sale if you don't like the Tamiya look!
There is some age-related wear on the car, most notably some superficial corrosion just starting on the rear wheel arches. This could be easily nipped in the bud (there's a good article about how to do this for minimal cost in the March issue of Car Mechanics if you fancy a bit of DIY). I'd be doing this myself if I were keeping the car. There's also a minor oil leak from the sump that's been recorded on the last two MOTs. I had this investigated again recently when the brakes were done and was advised that it's not significant.
Any inspection of the car would be welcomed – please get in touch to arrange.
The car's located in Ipstones, Staffordshire, about ½ an hour from Stoke and easily reached from Manchester, Sheffield, Derby, Nottingham and the like. Test drives would be possible with proof of appropriate insurance, or I could take you out myself if that's easier.
I would ask for a £100 deposit from the buyer with the balance to be paid on or before collection.
Any questions – just ask.
