Description
1990 TOYOTA MR2 TURBO
This car has been owned by me for the past six years but living further from work has meant it has to go.
It has always been a very good car and driven regularly, and as you can see from the photos still looks great. The interior is also in very good original condition, it has the half leather and suede seats, these are in good condition with only a small bit of rubbing on the drivers side bolster but there are no rips or holes. The carpets and dash are also very presentable and with minimal wear. It comes with the original sun blinds and storage bags, tool kit, spare wheel emergency flare in the passenger foot well and spare keys. It starts and drives brilliantly, doesn't get hot and the temperature stays steady. Given the age of the car and the fact it is turbo charged it doesn't excessively use oil either. Being an imported model it does have of the additional features including folding wing mirrors and climate control - not usually found on the UK cars.
It is a clean car and very original, when the car was imported the speedo was replaced at 21237 miles and I still have this with the box it came in, so feel very confident that the milage is correct. The only extras are the Sony head unit, turbo timer, and the horn stopped working a few years ago so I fitted a dual tone - which sounds much better than old electric "beep" type that was fitted. Over the years I have had various jobs done including:
Head gasket (done last year)
Cambelt
New radiator
Front wheels refurbished
New discs and pads
New thermostat
Recently MOT'd and with only a couple of advisories - one being a slight oil leak and the other two being a bit of play in the front drop links. It also has quite a large folder of documents and receipts for work done - including old MOT certificates going back to 2000.
Of course the car is 25 years old and has a couple of minor issues:
The car has been painted in the past and although shiny it has started to rust in a couple of areas - the worst being the driver's door. Other areas are the driver's side front wing by the pillar and on the top of the arch. I had the front bumper painted a couple of years ago and this has since started to craze, as has the rear bumper, I have done my best to photo these items. For some reason the fuel gauge will not go higher than half way. I have never found this to be a huge problem as when the level is below that it reads perfectly. A couple of the instrument bulbs have stopped working so the panel isn't as bright as it should be. Also, one of the LED lights on the air flow switches has stopped working. The car does have air-con but it no longer works. I believe the radiator on the front may need replacing but I have never had this further investigated. As you'd expect with car of this age there are a few stone chips and marks here and there but it is still a very presentable car. Also the aerial has started making a noise when it retracts, and then stops after about 15 seconds but haven't looked into it further.
I have listed this car honestly and would also advise that it is viewed before buying as all sales will be final. If you would like any other information, photos or have any questions please email me. The car can be viewed where I work in Gloucester during the day or in Faringdon in the evening. Cash on collection will be required.
