TOYOTA MR2 TURBO REVISION 3
REV 3 THE ONE TO HAVE.
1993 car in red tin top so no leaking roofs and a more rigid body.
This is a drivers car and at the lights and on the track it puts many cars worth many ££££thousands to shame.
This car sets off like a scaled cat and can hit 60 in a shade over 5 seconds using a TOMTOM as a speed guide.
The Mileage shown is 249000 KMS but with all the history the car has done about 95000 miles as its had 2 clock changes i assume to rectify faults.
I have not had this car on a rolling road and I will not claim that its running an unknown BHP all I will say is I have driven MR2s pushing 300BHP and this car is above its factory 245bhp
I am an Mr2 enthusiast with 2 other mr2s both being rebuilt my main project is a TRD replica Turbo that I have spent 2 years doing a nut and bolt rebuild on and off, I bought this car in February to re-ignite my passion to spur me on with my projects. I have had a few months of fun with it and now its time to move it on, plus the wife dont get it and is giving me grief, I may have 5 cars but I share them with her bulging shoe library that i cant moan about anyway more about this steal of a car.
BODYWORK
Has been repainted in the past and is peeling in places around the sceen and some panel joints, there are a couple of small dents on the rear quarters, from 10 feet away it all looks fine. All lights and pop ups working.
RUNNING GEAR
yellow bilstiens all round on red springs, lowered slightly, front and rear grooved and drilled discs in perfect order with mintex pads, the car has also had new calipers fitted all round not rusty and not painted red like most. The car is also fitted with a full antilock braking system. Its running on 15" alloys with 195s front and 225s rear, I also have a set of standard 15s to go with the car that have good toyos on the rears with cheapies on the fronts the wheels were a bit shabby so I put the ones on the car as they are a lot cleaner. ENGINE AND GEARBOX
2.0 litre rev 3 turbo the engine all enthusiast want as its not restricted and is for easy tuning mods.
CT20 turbo with tubular manifold coupled to xpower departure 2 stainless steel 3" twin exit exhaust (not too loud passes trackday decibel tests). Car comes with standard manifold and CAT in a box for MOT but it will MOT without the CAT
Aliminiun Side mount intercooler with independant cooling fan.
Aluminium High flow cooling radiator on standard twin fans
Fuel cut defender.
No aircon radiator although all the rest of the system is in place with the aircon belt removed for more power.
Blitz to atmosphere dump valve. (whoosh on gear changes)
K and N mushroom filter.
Limited Slip Diff Gearbox
Last owner said it had a competition clutch fitted I have no receipt or proof of this but the clutch bites low and hard so I have no reason to doubt this.
INTERIOR
The interior is very clean the seats and plastics have no holes wear or stains, seat bolsters are excellent.
Carpets are clean and fresh with excellent rare Man in Dandism overmats
Steering Wheel is a leather flat bottomed Khan with a MOMO horn boss
Shortshift gearlever with as new gaiter
brushed steel clock surround
Turbo Timer
Pod mounted Turbo boost gauge and air fuel ratio gauge
Flip front JVC CD player on standard speakers, electric aerial permently up. I have not check whether its wired up right or just fault as many are.
All clocks and electrics in working order.
Aftermarket alarm and immobiliser.
The car comes with a folder full of receipts and all of its MOTS from when it was imported in 1999, the car is 22 years old and has been used by enthusiasts, it would make a good base for an easy rolling restoration to make it a mint car hence the asking price of £2400 and not £4500 like many rev3s go for.
At this price its no offers, no swaps no P/Xs, the car is SORN and is on lay up insurance so you must bring insurance of your own for any major test drives with full payment in my hands or bank
