Description
Hi all
I had a lot of interest and followers when it was previously advertised but people were put off as it had no MOT
Car passed MOT 26/8/15 and only needed new handbrake cable which is now obviously replaced but is still SORN
Totally Unique and rare much admired Toyota MR2 Turbo 290BHP 3SGTE engine Conversion and fully road legal
It’s registered, as a 2.0L on the V5 so could be cheap to insurance
Very fast, 0-60 5 sec with excellent handling on the track running at approximately 290BHP but can easily be adjusted.
Have printout last time it was mapped and Dyno'd by Auto Xtreme showing 290BHP and 253 lbft at 160MPH. 0-60MPH is now around 4.9 - 5Secs
Celica headlights giving the MR2 a unique look
Folder full of receipts of work carried out for over £20k
Hello and welcome to the auction of my Toyota Mr2 Turbo. It has a massive spec and receipts to match all the items listed below totaling around £20,000.
The V5 is registered in my name. There is no outstanding finance and all HPI checks are welcome.
Sorry it is such a long description but a lot has been upgraded and changed.
I have owned the car for just over 2yrs and have loved every minute driving it and it always gets lots of attention.
Sorry the description goes on a bit, but a lot has been upgraded and changed from the original UK spec.
The maintenance of the car is done by myself and everything is checked and serviced on a regular basis
Recently done the oil and filter with top quality Mobil 1 fully synthetic oil
· Spark plugs are checked, which are NGK Iridium Plugs
· Coolant system checked, and recently flushed and replaced
· Brake pads checked and replaced if required (Rear pads brand new)
· Brake fluid checked and has just been replaced with high quality race spec fluid.
· Brand new clutch fitted less than 100 miles on it
ENGINE
Bulletproof 3SGTE engine conversion, completed by Rogue Motorsport, the best in the business, (check out their website). The receipts are present for a total cost of £4183.63
It went back to rogue in 2011 for full diagnostics and was given a 100% bill of health, this was another £1200 receipted.
Important - the car is running standard boost, 0.9Bar / 13Psi this which is displayed on the HKS Navigator and shown on the Dyno Printout.
Therefore, the engine is running perfectly safe Boost.
Easy to adjust and many people do crank it up to 1.2 or 1.5BAR, but found it is fast enough and never felt the need but this would give the car an extra 30-60BHP.
· New Radiator - Samco hoses right to Radiator and throughout.
· New Wiring Loom installed
· Up rated Map Sensor
· Air Temp Sensor
· Bleed Valve
· HKS F-Con ECU
· HKS Navigator - this is an in car digital display that shows Engine Oil Temp, Intercooler Air Temp, Boost Pressure, Revs, Boost Spool and lots more
· Jap Spec Exhaust De-Cat - fully legal on this car and passes emissions test fine
· Exhaust is now straight through so lots of backfires and pop pop pop
· Quick shift gearbox
· Apexi intake with K&N 57i
· Front and Rear strut braces
BODYWORK
The bodywork had many changes by previous owner, and I have a file of the build photos.
In 2010 it was fully under sealed, full Veilside kit fitted and bodywork re-sprayed in Olympic blue
· Over Sized Intercooler
· Custom Border front bumper - indicators holes removed and smoothed
· Celica headlights with twin angel eye and LEDs which make the car a real eye catcher and talking point, and sets it aside from other MR2’s
· Both front wings re-worked to match the curve of the lights
· Custom Carbon Bonnet. It’s a real Carbon Creations Bonnet (£530) in the middle combined with a Fibreglass bonnet (£350) and then worked to match the headlights. Basically it’s a £1200 bonnet.
· The rear bumper is also totally custom and has tow strap fitted.
· Side skirts are Veilside and fully smoothed
· Veilside rear wing with carbon wrap
· Black side strips are carbon wrapped too
· Air intake scoop
There are loads of other little detail touches like flushed aerial aperture and custom LED rear number plate light, which all totals to around £10,000
WHEELS AND TYRES
· Super rare 17" TSW Blades, refurbished in 2010. One has a couple of curb marks (whoops). I've been tempted to get them re-done and painted but could never decide on a colour.
· Rears are 225/45/17.
· Fronts are stretched 205/40/17
· Drilled and grooved discs and pads were new in Nov 12 and in very good condition
SECURITY
· ALARM/TRACKER
· Toad alarm and immobiliser
· RAC Trackstar Tracker. Fitted but not activated.
· The Key Card/Code is present, which could be activated for around £125 per annum last time I checked.
INTERIOR
· Simoni steering wheel and boss
· D1 drift spec gear knob
· New handbrake lever
· New gear gaiter and handbrake gaiter
· 7" DVD screen
· 6 speaker install with Pioneer 6x9's
Minor Points
The front leather seats could do with being replaced but are absolutely OK and supportive, just a bit cracked and shabby. I have seen some nice ones on ebay for as little as £150, but always-spent spare money on the critical bits like brakes etc.
Vehicle Mileage- The car currently shows 175k miles on the clock. Please do not let this put you off. The last stamp in the service book was 123k miles and the engine was replaced 20 months later. This means the engine has only covered 50k miles. All this can be proven with receipts and stamps.
There are a couple of hairline cracks in the paint on the Veilside kit, commonly found on fibreglass as it flexes. They are hardly noticeable. There are no cracks in the fibreglass itself.
These are all little cosmetic jobs. The car is mechanically solid with no rust and a super strong engine. All inspections are welcome, as long as you are genuine, serious and not intentionally going to waste my time. You will not be disappointed.
Thank you very much for reading my extremely long-winded description of my much-loved MR2. Only selling as I’m finding less and less time to use it and it needs to be used and admired.
I have probably missed loads of stuff. If you have, any questions please send a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible
Cheers Mike
