I purchased this Tarago from Karmart in St Marys Sydney NSW 2/2/2010 at 321598k, i have done approx. 49000k since I've owned it, so having replaced engine & Gear box in March 2011 ''due to over heat from a blown radiator Header Tank'' i'd estimate the replacement Eng/Box have now done an est total of 120000k's the Majority of these Kilometres have been Highway as the Tarago was specifically purchased for family holiday trip interstate 'but' the kids are all grown up now so time to move it on-
At the time of the original purchase for the Tarago 2/2/10 i had replaced most major suspension components, Struts-Shocks, Tie-rods, balljoints, Aux shaft couplings, engine belts, Windscreen and numerous other parts either required for RWC or just replaced myself to update the vehicle.
Some spares, Computer, ignition controller, Aux Coupling, Fuel filter, belts, are all in a box in the car, spares just in-case needed while traveling-
It has done approx 49000k since i have owned it and has been a reliable car over the 5 year period with regular servicing done by myself every 5 to 6000 K's oil/filters/belts etc.
The body is mostly original paint with several minor repairs finished in flat White undercoat, there are several door dings, scratches & marks typical of a vehicle of this age & kilometres as are the bumpers ect- a little surface rust around rear hatch door jam and panel join but certainly reparable, i do not believe there is any other rust in the vehicle, I'm also confidant that this Tarago has not been in any major accidents ect.
Interior is fair, Cloth has some marks/tears and simple repairs on seats cloth & Vinyl, carpet has marks/Fair condition, Dash some Marks & Scratch's, Hood lining Good some marks, Door panels fair/marks, interior is typical of its age and consistent family use, It has been a ''none smokers'' car since i have owned it-
I fitted the ROH 18' alloys when i first purchased & RWC the car. I went to a lot of trouble with the Tyre Power dealer who did the RWC and who also sold me the wheels that the Rim & Tyre fitment was correct to this model tarago 'spacing and weight' requirements so as they complied with rego and insurance specifics, an $1800 investment for Rims/tyres-
I still have the original steel Rims/tyres, original Engine 'has Cracked head', original Gearbox is still serviceable but a little slow to slip into revers at times, these will go with the car if wanted.
The car has 9 months rego but its 'NOT' being sold with a Road worthy ''Sold as is'' so plates will be removed on sale and returned to VicRoads rego will be cashed in.
if you buy it you will need a State Rego provider 'Unregistered Vehicle Permit' to pick it up and organise you own Road worthy & registration.
Private sale purchasers will have an opportunity to test drive as it will remain registered until sales finalised.
This Tarago drives very well, uses little if any oil, Slight oil leak from engine rocker cover Typical of this model Tarago, slight oil leak from Differential input shaft, Rear left sliding door handle has been repaired "and works" but i guess should be replaced at some-stage.
Now a WEIRD thing? in recent years 'rarely' but sometimes while trying to start it 'generally Cold first start for the day' it Coughs then won't start "Just turns over and chugs" i stop trying, turn ignition off and go get a coffee or something generally after 10/15 minuets it fires right up! its never left me stuck- I've had it looked at and I've been told I've flooded it? but its fuel injected so? anyway we put it on the computer analysis thing late last year and it said a temp sender was playing up so i had it replaced, it has done it once since then but again i left it be and then its fine.
So apart from what I've mentioned it's been a great car for us which i will certainly miss, its rough around the edges but an honest vehicle not trying to be anything else that what it is and great for highway touring or running family around the urban areas, i do not expect it will need much to get a RWC, its got a lot of life left and kilometres to offer be-it for a young growing family or a general get around that looks pretty cool with the 18" rims-
PLEASE NO TIME WASTERS. IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO PAY OR ARE NOT SERIOUS TO BUY PLEASE DO NOT ENQUIRE.
I reserve the right to end this listing at any time as this is advertised elsewhere-
