Description
This ute is mechanically sound and was formerly the work car of a diesel mechanic in Bulla, Victoria. The engine pulls well with loads of torque and is as smooth as you'd find on a Hilux of this vintage. The car stops and starts perfectly, has good brakes, reasonable tyres and has been 100% reliable in the six months I have driven it. I flew down to Melbourne and drove it back to Sydney without a moment's worry. C. 380,000km on the clock.
Cosmetically, the car is pretty ordinary and has only deteriorated on my watch, but with a good scrub it looks tidy. There are many dings as you'd expect from a work vehicle.
The ute has been fitted with a livestock cage which cost about $1500 second hand. It is very heavy and well fabricated.
The Hilux was purchased in January to be used on a landscaping job, but the tub style tray has proved unwieldy for that purpose and it's been replaced with a flat tray ute. I never bothered to change the rego over to NSW and so the car still needs a blue slip/sold without registration. It isn't worth my while re-registering the car as I've primarily been using it to take my coolies swimming.
The car stands me at $3000 but I'm realistic about sale price and motivated to sell so offers welcome. This is not a new car and is not beautiful to behold so please proceed accordingly.
