Description
60 series for sale. FJ60 Limited edition "Silver Series" Landcruiser wagon.
I've owned this car for about 4 years, and it does not get drivenregularly enough, maybe put on 10k km in that time. It needs a regulardriver to give it some TLC. I had intended to drop a V8 conversion intoit- either 308 holden or 350 chev but as it doesn't get used much Ihaven't got around to it, but it would be perfect for it.
Good overall condition.
Exterior Condition:
No rust to be seen, paint needs a respray as faded a bit, andpeeling on roof as is the norm for these old cars that are 30years old. Ido have another set of the blue silver series decals to go with it. Allthe panels seem fairly straight.
Tyre carrier swings from rear, to accomodate gas tank under body-which is about 80litres I think- always takes around 60litres a fill.
Wheels are chrome sunraisers.
Alloy bullbar
Running gear:
Petrol and LPG. 2F engine 4.2litre. 5 speed manual gearbox.
Overall- runs well. It is a bit noisey and rattley, which I put down to the lack of use.
It starts fairly well on LPG straight up. I haven't really run it onpetrol too often, so it definately needs a tune if you want to run iton petrol.
Engine uses a little oil occasionally. Was told when I bought itthat it was a reco 60,000 km ago -so 70,000 ish ago now. Has 390,000 kmson it.
Engine appears to be getting tired. It still gets up to 100km/h, and obviously isn't as strong as it was new (30 years ago).
So as not to mislead people, the engine isn't perfect, and would suit doing it up, or replacing it.
Recently I have had the following work done by a mechanic:
Points changed
New plugs
New distributor cap
New inlet manifold gasket
New exhaust manifold gasket
Air leaks fixed
Gearbox seems quite strong, but is a touch noisey as most toyotasare. Dual range works well. Will get you out of trouble in L4 or H4.
Tyres are very good, heaps of tread left on them. Spare is old, butgot through the RWC when I bought it, and hasn't been used at all.
Battery- I upgraded to a deep cell dual cycle battery and it always has plenty of power.
LPG tank was retested in April 2010- just prior to purchasing the car.
It is an APA tank with an apparent capacity of 90litres- so 70litres usable.
It runs an Impco gas system, and I have just installed a new safety control switch.
Interior:
Great original condition.
Seats are good quality, with no rips and tears (had seat covers on them until recently).
Carpet a bit faded/dirty.
Door trims and headlining, good condition.
Air conditioning- is there, but not working. Had a quote to get itfixed- around $1500 as seized compressor. Can supply copy of quote.
Please ask any questions, priced to sell as it just sits here andrego is coming around again in August and i'd prefer not to pay it.
All reasonable offers considered.
No RWC, sorry I am not a mechanic, but I would think it would not need too much doing to it.
Either give it a spruce up as is, or use it to build upon with the straight body, and good interior.
Overall the vehicle with good body and interior is worth the purchase alone regardless of engine condition.
