1980 Toyota TE72 Corolla T-18. 950kg, 201rwkw, 635nm of
torque!You do the maths. This vehicle is an immaculate and squeaky clean
much-loved 25 year project.
I was the first to see this car and just had to have it. Not simply just because it is frighteningly quick and responsive, but also because it is just a stunning piece of over-engineered art.
Tastefully modified, this vehicle has the same rear wheel drive chassis as the AE86 Sprinter which it preceded. Engine and drive train built with reliability in mind.
This vehicle is fully NSW compliant and comes with engineering certificate a full road registration until July 2016.
Engine is a 3TGTE unit with forged internals, bottom end o-ringed rods, ARP bolts, nitride crank, forged Cosworth 82mm(+20") flat top pistons with valve reliefs, ported and polished heads, 40thou copper head gasket. Garrett GT3076R turbo, HSG Turbine GT30BB wastegate 38mm 0.7bar, Eboost two stage boost controller 16/21psi, aluminium radiator and high flow front mount intercooler, Split pulse setup ceramic coated manifold, EMS Stinger V4 ecu, 560cc injectors, 3inch stainless turbo back exhaust into 3.5inch Flow Master muffler. Tuned by Adam at Just Engine Management.
Toyota Hilux 4.36 LSD, Supra 5-speed W57 gearbox, 1st 3.28, 2nd 1.89, 3rd 1.27, 4th 1.00 5th 0.860.TC coilovers, XR8 disc brakes all round.
Recaro fronts, rear reupholstered. Battery in back, isolation switch installed. Wired for big sound if that is your thing. Darkest legal tint. Factory power windows in front (due to original lady owner suffering from arthritis). Undercarriage has been powder coated and body rustproofed throughout. Has NEVER been driven in rain. Genuine 46K km, less than 5000km since engine build.
Also with the car will come a receipt file totalling around $100K of work done.as well as a number of spares such as 2 brand new (still in cardboard) bonnets, quarter panels, lift back, 2 new tyres, water pump, etc. Also T-18 workshop body and engine manuals.
There is probably stuff I have forgotten but you get the idea. Regretful sale but just does not get driven often enough to justify ownership these days.
The car is insured with Shannons for $31,500. Although I believe the vehicle is keenly priced to sell, I will entertain offers in the vicinity of the asking price. This thing is worth every cent!
