Description
This is a 99 T registered facelift model with power steering, no external hinges and the later individual rear lights. The colour is Crimson Startmist with a cranberry and magnolia interior.
I've had the car for over three years; however it's spent most of this time off the road after failing it first MOT in my ownership due to the outriggers being mostly made of underseal!
After further examination the only way to make the car right was to take the body off. Once that was off, the chassis was blasted and new outriggers were made to the exact pattern of the originals but using cold drawn seamless tube as used in motorsport roll cages instead of the seemed original. The tubes were joined using smaller tube turned to fit the original chassis and new outriggers perfectly, ensuring perfect alignment when the joint was tig welded. The chassis was then treated with grey POR15 paint.
Our chassis is good as new if not better but I've got a pile of rusty dirty worn out parts in the workshop!
The next stage was to restore all the suspension using new arms and bushes where necessary, the anti roll bar links were also replaced. The brake discs and pads were all replaced, as were the copper lines, handbrake cable, and the flexible hoses were upgraded to braided versions.
The running gear has also received some attention with new drive shaft boots, full top end rebuild on the engine including head gaskets, silicone hoses throughout, stainless water pipes, new fuel lines throughout, new fuel pump, plugs, leads, an general tidy up and anything else it needed.
The exhaust was cleaned up and painted , the manifold faces were ground flat for a better seal to the head and some stainless shields were added.
The engine bay it's self was tidied while the body was off, the satin black was renewed and the reflective heatproof material was also replaced with a higher spec version of the original.
When it came to the interior, the floor carpets were a little worn, and after finding out the original cranberry carpet was unavailable I had all the carpet replaced at DC Trim (ex TVR) at the old factory. I enquired about having a few repairs made to the roof, but in the end I decided to have a full new roof fitted to make it perfect, which it definitely is now! The dash was also replaced including new heater LEDs, with a new walnut dash made by the OEM supplier to TVR, again this looks fantastic and now has a Kenwood CD/MP3 with a USB/ipod port to bring it up to date. The seats are original and still very presentable.
The paintwork is good with a few minor defects as you would expect, and as you can see from the pictures it has a deep shine and polishes up very well. I replaced the headlamp reflectors with the correct Bosch items as these were well past their best.
The tyres are all good with brand new Toyo T1-R's on the front.
The car has 11months MOT and 5 months tax and runs and drives perfectly, as you would expect. There is service history and the original owners hand book with the car.
The only reason for sale is I've bought a Cerbera as I need four seats.
Part exchange of less value considered.
