1958 Volkswagen VW Beetle
CANDY APPLE RED - this is a stand-out car that has been very well looked after and in mint condition
Fully rebuilt in 2004. Has only driven 5000 miles since then.
Candy Apple Red exterior, Gun Metal Grey interior – full bare metal respray. Only rust found was under the battery tray (repaired). No bog or any other rust at all.
All seats and door trims re-upholstered, new mohair headliner, new carpet. Seat frames powder coated. Windscreen, and all window and door rubbers replaced. New hood seals fitted. New pedal rubbers. Oval one-colour tail lights fitted, plus bullet blinkers added on front and rear bumpers. Original sun visors and mirrors in good order so re-used during restoration.
Fully rebuilt 12 volt, twin port, AS cases, 1800cc barrels. All brakes and clutch replaced including master cylinder. Brand new cylinder heads fitted.
Front and rear shocks replaced, new tyres fitted – currently 90% tread. Wheel rims (including spare) powder coated, and chrome dress rims fitted. New running boards fitted plus chrome stone guards on front and rear mudguards.
Has complete original semiphores in place – can be connected to light and lift.
Heater in working order.
New seat belts fitted - retractable in the front and lap sash in the rear.
All chrome work original materials and re-chromed as part of restoration.
Both hood emblems in place, including 7 colour enamel Wolfsburg Crest badge.
Only German parts used in restoration – no cheap or lower quality rubbers.
CD player fitted in glove box.
Fitted with lots of accessories including rear venetian, headlight eyebrows, extension handle for fuel tap switch, chrome exhaust tips, tinted windows, chrome dual base side-of-body antenna, chrome jack plugs.
This car runs VERY well, very well looked after and regularly serviced. Has recently had a full service and is ready to go.
Well loved little car - only selling to help with cost of building our new home. Plus - moving out of town and don't want to see her ruined as a result of travelling dirt roads. Regretful sale - but it's time to move on !!
