1959 Volkswagen Beetle-Classic

This beautiful 1959 Beetle is a rare find. In 1959 it was shipped from the factory in Germany to Ethiopia (see attached photo of German "birth certificate" and original bill of sale. This car was used by a professor to set up an agricultural college in 1959 and was eventually shipped back to the US in 1967 where it had rare use. Since there were no VW dealerships in Ethiopia, the car was shipped with additional spare parts, some of which I still have in their original boxes. It still has the original jack and tool kit. It has 47,000 kilometers on it- odometer and speedometer are metric. An Ethiopian hand-made the roof rack. The car is equipped with a rare optional "cigar-cigarette lighter" as shown in the picture. This vehicle is mostly original (including the pans) with no accidents or rust. The engine has been totally rebuilt and is not the original one. Also have some of the original service record books and brochures. The entire vehicle has been brought up to specs from a mechanical standpoint. It has a new two-stage paint job, headliner, rubber seals, barely used tires, new carpet, seat covers and more. This car has a beautiful color and trim package and generates conversation at every stop!
