Description
1975 Beetle rebuild with largely new and rebuilt components completed in 2000 by an aircraft mechanic/airworthiness inspector/professional pilot for his father, a retired DC-3 pilot and expert mechanic/inspector himself. I'm a family friend, and happily acquired the car when the father quit driving last year. My only reason for selling is my Irish Wolfhound - even with the right seat removed, he's given it his best, but he just does not fit.
Chassis rebuild included complete strip and sandblasting, new fenders (Italian manufacture), glass, epoxy rustproofing and paint, and new Sewfine seats. Drive train rebuild included Scat heads, hydraulic lifters, dual carbs, and American Eagle rims.
Car has never been driven in Winter and is completely rust free. Perfectly aligned and tuned. I've had the car serviced and inspected by two 30 plus year Volkswagon specialists (John's Car Corner, Westminister, VT; Craigs VW Repair, Colchester, VT). Both have said this is one of the best driving and most powerful Beetles they have driven. The car really has to be driven to be experienced - super smooth from idle up to highway speeds. Perfect tracking and alignment, smooth even braking. This car will stand the most detailed inspection.
