JUST PLAIN FUN TO DRIVE!!
This car has had a complete restoration, to achieve this many new parts were installed. The motor was rebuilt by a VW specialist and has less than 100 miles on it! Heater boxes are in good shape. Had the carburetor rebuilt plus the gas tank flushed out and cleaned.
New Top: When this car was brand NEW it had a Robbins top. This is being replaced with the original manufactured convertible top.
The motor block was split and cleaned # AH476222
The numbers on the car tells us it was only shipped from Germany to California. We bought it in Washington, D.C. and brought it to Ohio.
NEW parts: Rod bearing, cam bearing, main bearings, push rod tubes, rings, valve job, oil cooler, intake valve, exhaust valve, generator, condenser, complete gasket set and seals, clutch, pressure plate, clutch cable, accelerator cable, spark plugs plus wiring, cap, rotor, points, muffler, tail pipe & clips, battery, gear oil in transmission, complete brake system including emergency cables, brake light switch & flashers, 5 radial tires, wheel bearings and seals, steering damper, fire wall pad, horn, rear shocks, front struts, windshield with all new rubber seal around it, wiper blades, new rubber on back side windows and around doors, both sides heater channels and floor pans, 2 headlights, fuses, door handles, fender molding, carpet and under padding.
The side window vents do not look their age but do not seal completely when closed, so like all women, we want a little help to cover up our problem. The help comes from a little stainless steel metal clip screw fastener that holds the vent tight and with the top down there is plenty of air. If the new owner wants something to do for under $10.00, go to Advance Auto Parts store, where they sell a Dorman part that could be attached to the interior as an alternative fix.
Had the front-end wheel alignment done.
