Description

NO RESERVE NO RESERVE NO RESERVE
This is a NO RESERVE auction for THE BEST 1966 Volkswagen 1300 cc original Beetle for sale out there. The pictures say it all. It was restored to complete original by a previous owner, and is flawless both as to appearance and mechanics. The Bahama Blue exterior paint is beautiful and of highest quality, and the chrome is bright and shiny. The interior is like brand new, no wear to the seats or doors or dash. The car runs and drives perfectly, and the underside is as clean as the topside. The Coker radial wide walls were not original to the "66 Bug, but they sure are great to look at and have under 1,000 miles on them. The 1300 cc engine is as they came, including a 6-volt system. The original Sapphire I radio works perfectly. The only new item is a 6 volt battery which I bought in August of 2012. I will include the original owner's manual, a 6 volt Battery Tender, some repair manuals, an authenticity certificate from Volkswagen, and a nice matching tote bag, to the lucky buyer. They are depicted in the last photo.
Why am I selling this wonderful VW? I own other classic cars, and I have not been driving this one. I have put less than 700 miles on it in two years. Simply put, I feel that these wonderful classics need to be driven, or they waste away. When I bought it I thought I would use it more, as I drove a '66 VW through college etc. for 8 years or so. Seeing one this pristine and original brought back many memories. The previous owner, a retired doctor in West Virginia and also a classic car guy, loved the car but sold it to me for the same reasoning; he had put only about 50 to 100 miles on the car, and I have proof of that. I just added a 67 Mustang GT Fastback to the garage, and something needs to go, so it is this one that is rarely driven.
Please bid responsibly, and have the funds available. A non-refundable $500 deposit is required through Pay Pal within 24 hours of the close of the auction.
