Description
Classic 60's original Camper. Barn find.
Engine starts and seems to run well until debris clogs filters. Fuel tank requires cleaning or replacement to provide clean fuel to engine. Our motor tests were with 2 large inline filters to catch debris. Receipt in hand from original owner (deceased) for engine overhaul in 1993, including bearings, gaskets, seals, engine case, etc. Seller cannot verify work completed. Original owners family said the rebuilt motor had maybe been used 1000-2000 miles before being put in storage.
No brakes. All braking components require renewal.
Wheels rotate.
The sheet metal body is straight and without rust i
Steering rotation and gear shifting seems good.
Front floor pan is rusted through. Replacement of pan and foot pedals required. Battery pan rusted through.
Rust on and through sheet metal at rocker panels in several locations
Side slide door is complete and functions correctly. The door was modified with hinges to swing outward. The latch and handle are working. The slider pivot hinge was broken and not replaced. Therefore I assume the original owner chose to installed hinges. Very creative ! Fasteners for hinges are easily removed. Door slider track on side of van is in tact. The sheet metal track cover is with Van and straight.
Doors: front (R/L), rear, engine all OK
Interior is complete. Upholstery original and undamaged. Furniture all OK. Sink complete but not operational. Dash and components complete, but operation unverified. Odometer reads 52,100 which cannot be verified. Pop top complete with hinges working. Unique and original canvas hinged cot inside pop top is functional. Original canvas cot with bar supports which fits over front seats functional . Front seats complete and require reupholstering. Cabinet doors and latches are OK. Interior wood veneer shows age and deterioration. All windows original , unbroken and complete
Electrical: starter motor spins and starts engine. Headlights, wiper motor, OK. Rewiring or new harness necessary.
The vehicle was purchased from the original owners family. Seller has no knowledge of use, history, maintenance
