Description
Great VW camper for sale. I bought this bus about a year ago with the intent to restore it and take a trip across the US and Canada. Unfortunately, my remote work position has changed to a conventional in office position, and I no longer have the time/freedom to travel, so I have decided to let someone else enjoy this beauty.
I am not a mechanic, so I had all of the mechanical work done by a local shop that specializes in air cooled VWs. Professional work includes:
new electricalclean and service the engine and carbsbrakesnew tiresclean out and remount the exhaust systemcheck suspension (all good)
The bus comes with the original cabinets and seating, however everything has been removed as I recently sanded the interior surface rust and sprayed a coat of Rustoleum primer. The cabinets can be reinstalled for use over a weekend or you can restore the cabinets to their original glory while they are removed.
The canvas top is in good condition. There is a very small hole in the side screen.
The exterior has a bit of surface rust all around the vehicle. Most can be sanded and repainted if desired. If you have ever owned a bus, you'll know there are a few areas of the body that seem to be rusted on every one. This bus is no exception. The rear panels by the tail lights as well as a few minor spots near the front windshield. This is an unrestored 46 year old VW camper. Expect body rust. The frame however looks strong and straight.
To be clear, this is not a bus for someone looking for an all original show winner. This is a bus for someone who actually wants to drive and camp. Perfect for road trips and beach runs.
I have done my best to describe this vehicle as accurately as possible, however please remember that I am no a mechanic. This vehicle is sold "as-is" with no warranty. I am happy to help with shipping.
