You are viewing an exceptional example of a “RUST FREE” 1977 Volkswagen seven passenger Bus. This VW has spent her entire life in the dry climate of Southern California. She is still wearing her original issue Blue and Yellow California license plates issued to her when she was first sold right here in Southern California and truly would make a great Holiday Gift.
Equipped with a 2.0 liter Fuel Injected engine she starts right up no matter how long she has been sitting. The transmission shifts effortlessly and correctly under all conditions with no grinding and never pops out of gear. Safety items all work correctly including brake lights, head lights, turn signals, back up lights. Her front disc Brakes and rear drums all perform correctly. The speedometer is very accurate and odometer works correctly. She just received new wiper blades and the radial tires have less than 1,000 miles on them. She drives effortlessly and keeps up with modern cars on the freeway and she can be driven anywhere with total confidence.
She turns heads everywhere! While parked at the beach or in town this 1977 Bus stops people in there tracks. These vehicles are icons and a true Southern California classic that has evolved into a status vehicle within some communities of SouthernCalifornia. She is wearing her original paint color combination of “Reef Blue & Pastel White or L57H & L90D and our mechanic told us her unique color was available exclusively in the late 70’s. She has been re-sprayed only once in the past 37 years and her current paint is about five years old with very nice sheen and luster. She is not a trailer queen and she is not a fully restored example but a well preserved and exceptional driver that turns heads every where and demonstrates pride of ownership. She has minor ware on the body but the flaws are truly minor and we have pictures available upon request. While very minor surface flaws do exists she is virtually a rust free California example with solid floors, dog legs, rain gutters, battery trays etc.
The interior of this 1977 VW Bus is very clean considering her age. She comes with the original off white colored interior. The front seat material and padding are in good condition with only minor wear. The middle seat material and padding is in good condition with only minor wear. The rear bench seat does fold down and has minor separation on the bottom seam that can easily be re sewn. The interior heater works great of course after the engine is warmed up! A six inch narrow tear is present on the rear section of the headliner but hardly noticeable when compared to others I have seen. The dash board and steering wheel are in excellent condition with zero cracks and the painted portion of the dash is excellent as well.
We purchased this VW from a friend that was moving out of the country and could not store her or take her with him. We seek VW minded people to enjoy this wonderful VW. This bus is available for in person or third party inspections during the auction period only by appointment. I simply need 24 hours notice. After sale inspections are “not” available. Specific photos are available upon request, simply allow me 48 hours to get them to you prior to auction completion.
Our Reef Blue VW is sold AS IS and no warranty of any kind is implied or offered. Financing for these specialized vehicles can be difficult so please do not bid if you don’t have the funds to complete a sale. Trucking or shipping cost and arrangements are the responsibility of the winning bidder although seller will assist in getting vehicle to the port of San Diego or a nearby trucking depot (within 20 miles). A $500 dollar non refundable deposit via Pay Pal is required within 24 hours of auction completion. Once deposit clears seller will provide buyer with a clean bill of sale and clean California Title. The balance is due within 7 days of auction completion in the form of cash in person or Bank wire. International wires are subject to a banking surcharge depending on banking institution. No personal checks or credit cards can be accepted. Cashier’s check is okay only if drawn from a local bank with seller present. Upon clearance of complete funds seller will overnight clean California title and bill of sale to buyer and release vehicle to shipper or buyer. Please have arrangements in place to get this exceptional VW picked up within ten days of auction completion.
