This is a great example of a Golf GT TDI.. If you don't already know these cars are very fast and responsive, unbelievably economical 60MPG and , if looked after, the engines are bullet proof.
This is the first GT TDi model I have come across with Leather, Heated Leather Seats and a Sunroof, these options are normally found on GTI model.. these are very expensive optional extras on a GT TDI- hence you rarely find it
I have had a few of these Golfs, they are great cars.. the performance is great and the economy is fantastic.. you can easily get the on-board trip computer to show 60mpg.
And the gearbox is so tight and precise on this one.. almost like a short shift sports box on a Porsche .. I've never had one with a gearbox this good, feels like a brand new car
This Golf has a 6xCD multi player in the front armrest - again , not normally found in a GT TDI
The centre Armrest can be set to extend further forward and tilt up higher..I've only seen this before on a Passat..This is my favourite feature of this car, to be able to position the armrest where it is most comfortable to use is great.. and unlike an Audi armrest..if you position it down flat against the CD changer it doesn't get n the way of the hand-brake. You can see in the photo of the front drivers seat, the armrest is set quite highnot so good photogenic but that the comfy position for me, gives the armchair effect !
This one has done 150,000 miles but has an amazing, comprehensive Service History..
The last service (Oil & Air Filters and new Oil) was done 3,000 miles ago 3months ago. So it is not due another Oil Service for another 7,000 miles
Less than 800 miles ago I had a new cam-belt fitted and the Alternator was replaced as it was making a noise.
The Water Pump was also changed because the factory fitted ones have plastic impellers that fail..the car now has been upgraded to a more heavy duty water pump.
Car is has just been into my mechanic because of a noisy wheel bearing..but it turns out it was a ceased brake calliper, The wheel bearings are fine and did not need changing . The car now has new Front Brake Discs and Pads and a new front Brake Calliper.
New Front Brakes have done 20 miles and ( at the time of writing )are still shiny and new
Car comes with original spare wheel, all the original tools and 2 keys, another sign this car has been well looked after
The service history has 10 service stamps.. All the Services up to 75,000 miles were done by Windrush , the Volkswagen Main Agent in Maidenhead (First Owner) The car has continued to be serviced regularly , the service book shows a service stamp every 10,000 miles since. I have a lot of receipts to back up the stamps
The car had a new Cam-belt fitted by Windrush at 75,597m and I had another replacement Cam-Belt fitted 2 weeks ago and the pulley system/ tensioners and idlers for the belt were also renewed All other auxiliary belts were changed at 97,000 miles.
The first owner was ING leasing ,as well as the service book stamps I also have a print out from ING leasing detailing all routine serving and other work carried out.
The car was sold to second owner a lady owner in Milton Keynes who also kept receipts for work done and continued a regular servicing routine with services every 10,000 miles normally at a Garage called Quality Service Centre in Milton Keynes, bizarrely the last service at 147,987 miles was done at Kwik-Fit- strange choice ! but its just an oil and filter change, any garage can do that !
There is a mark on the rear seat..in white, maybe white paint - it can be seen in photo of the rear seat
There are no dents in the car.. no trolley dinks that I can see.
It has some stone chips on the front and I noticed one on the roof.. I noticed some paint chips and the plastic moulding on the doors because these have been colour-coded and not left black, there job is to protect the body from dents.
The Alloys are Volkswagen originals.. no major gorging or damage but there is some scratching from scraping on the kerb and a little bit of erosion and lacquer lifting.
They are a basic design alloy, if you want A1 as new condition ,Alloys of this type would be cheap and simple to get refurbished.
Ideally I would like to get the alloys refurbished , if I was keeping the car for another year I would get them done, but as I am selling it , it would just be throwing money away
This the best Golf Diesel I have seen for a long time and will be a good reliable car for its new owner for a long time
Ideally this car should be advertised for £2995 or £2795 to get it sold and I am sure there are many advertised for that..but I bet done of the otheres have Leather Seats , The armrest ( an option you don't think is important, but is a super luxury you will benefit from every drive)and Multi-CD and (most importantly) all the parts changed recently.but you have to remember all the work I have done to this car in the last few months to get to make it the best around..Cam Belts, Brakes,Water pumps, Alternators , these thing don't come cheap..You may well find cheaper Golf Gt TDi's on here , but they will all need these parts changing sometime within the next year..My Car has it all done..please consider that when valuing my car..any offers need to reflect this
