VOLKSWAGON GOLF GTI 2.0 ANNIVERSARY 1996 - Black
Here is an excellent example of a classic and recognisable car. The MK3 anniversary model of the Golf, made in limited edition - with manufacture fitted extras such as the 'golf ball' style gear knob, chequered seats, side skirts and body trim etc.
There are very few good condition and unmolested examples of these cars nowadays. Only 600 were ever made, and of those - 92 remain. So getting a rarity. Not only are there only 92 remaining, but there are only 30 which have the additional specs which were an 'extra' to the edition. These being metallic black finish and air conditioning (which works!)
The golf is in very good condition and has served me very well since I have owned it, it drives well and has no problems at all. The only minor bugs I can mention would be the BBS Split rims (original alloys) are in need of a refurb to get them mint condition. Also the gaiter of the inner CV joint (drivers side) will need replacing but for the cost of £15 it is not really an issue in comparison to the car as a whole.
I am an avid car collector, and have owned many classics in the few years of driving. Currently I own 4 VW's and really could do with freeing up the space. This golf was a purchase to cover a period whilst my corrado was being fixed and therefore I do not really need it anymore. As much as I do love it!!
The car has covered 140,000 miles , although when driving and viewing the engine itself there would be no obvious signs of this mileage. It drives extremely well and pulls without any issues, the engine is clean and dry as a bone! I would go as far to say that the engine itself is one of the best I have seen in terms of signs of leaks etc.
MOT is until October 2015 so you have 5 months still. Like I have mentioned the only fix I would suggest is the rubber gaiter/ CV joint which are an easy fix. (The best thing about this car - very simple layout and easy to add and remove parts)
