Description
2006 Volkswagen Golf 2.0 TFSi GTI 3 door Hatchback
I am reluctantly selling my 2006 Mark 5 Golf GTi due to birth of first child. This has been my pride and joy for over 7 years now and I believe it is a fine example of this great car. It comes with a number of the optional extras offered by VW and, as I was not expecting to be selling the car this year, new brake-pads/discs, new tyres, new timing-belt and new Bosch wiper blades.
Summary of key features:
· 127,250 miles
· 2.0 GTi petrol engine
· 6 speed manual gearbox
· Colour: graphite blue
· Full service history (see details below)
· MOT until 19th April 2016
· 4 performance tyres all with good tread depth
· New brake-pads/discs all-round (fitted March 2015)
· New timing belt (fitted September 2015)
· Only 1 previous owner
· Power-assisted Steering (PAS)
· ABS braking System
· Traction control / Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
· Cruise-control
· Alarm
· Immobiliser
· Sunroof
· 17” Monza alloy wheels
· 6CD auto-changer (in driver’s armrest) + single CD player AM/FM Stereo
· Electric windows
· Automatic wipers (new Bosch wiper blades all-round)
· Adjustable steering column
· Electrically adjustable and heated mirrors
· Height adjustable front seats
· On board computer
· ISOFIX anchorage points
· Front and rear armrests
· 2 keys
The car is in very good condition albeit, as you would expect for a car of this age, there are a number of minor scratches/chips to the paintwork. There are some very small patches of rust on both the driver and passenger door sills and there are some scratches/blemishes on each of the alloy wheels (see attached photos). Whilst I have both original keys, the remote locking/unlocking does not work on one of them – although it is still possible to open, lock and drive the car with both keys. Finally, at the time of the car’s last service (September 2015), I was advised that there is a small gearbox oil leak. The gearbox oil was topped up as part of that service and again in November – each top up required approximately ¼ of a litre of oil.
The interior of the car is in great condition, particularly the rear which has hardly ever been used and is immaculate.
Service history
The car has been serviced regularly in line with VW’s long-life service schedule. Servicing was initially undertaken by VW (up to May 2010) and then by an independent VW specialist (IVC -
