Description
OBO - - - This is the cleanest '07 GTI MKV on the market - 141,749 miles on the odo - 1 surface ding, from a palm tree nut, 2 weeks into owning the car, near the antenna on the roof. There are some (4-5) small scratches, that you cannot see from 3 feet away from the car. They are less than a few inches in length and not deep. The front bumper has nicks, that would be expected (the front fascia was replaced midway through the life of the car so the nicks and such are not from 142K worth of driving.) There is not one noticeable dent/scratch when looking down the side of the car - it is clean.
The car was involved in a front end accident, a swipe, not a direct hit, and nothing internal was damaged - it was all cosmetic, which resulted in the new front fascia, one new headlight at time of accident repair, along with one new fog light. It was not an at-fault accident and the car actually benefited from getting some new parts - and while the car was at the body shop, they painted the VW logos and badges.
The ignition coil went out at 81K and was replaced (just out of warranty) - then again after 100K, but was replaced this time by a tuning shop and it has not been an issue since.
Other than those few things, the car has never been involved in anything other than 1 tire slash and a few flats on the road.
I babied the car to the point, it has never parked near anything. My wife hates it. Since purchasing the car with 36 Miles on the odometer, I have never driven it before the engine has warmed up (1-2 minutes, waiting for the idle to get to normal). I broke the car in for 1500 miles and for that time period, it was never pushed hard under acceleration and never went above 70, while never going into 6th, only staying in 5th gear at the max of 70 MPH. The first tank of gas was Mobile with Techron from the dealer, and I believe I put Arco in the second time.but since then it has never drank anything but Shell V-Power 91 octane with fuel and system cleaners put in at suggested times.
It has been cleaned and maintained (oil changes and filter changes) dubiously. The first half life of the car, it was serviced at VW dealers (SD and LA). Since then, only EuroCode Tuning Shop in Torrance - for everything.
The car is upgraded.(generic listing can be backed up by paper work I have - I have all paper work from dealer services and tuner shops)
-APR Tuned; Stage 2+
-Upgraded fuel pump
-Neuspeed Cold Air Intake
-Front mount Intercooler Stage 3 (throttle body upgrade, etc..)
-Light Weight Pulley Kit
-Stage 2 Racing Clutch
-Short Throw Shifter
-Turbo Back Exhaust system (I will include the stock exhaust so you can get it smogged legally - saving you money and stress)
-Bilstein suspension setup (coils overs - race setup, stiff, wife hates it)
-Neuspeed anti sway bar (rear)
-StopTech Front brake pads with slotted rotors (stock brakes in rear - both new as of, roughly 118K on the car)
The car is very fast, and handles amazing - like a go kart with pace. I take the car up to Angeles Crest 3-5 times per year and it performs amazing. It has never been tracked, but has been flogged - correctly. It has never been driven on a trip more than 3 hundred miles one way. I never burnt rubber in the car, meaning I never smoked em up - chirp, yes, but never a first gear, huge burnout. There were a few "autobahn" runs, late at night from LA to SD, where it was driven over 120 MPH for more than 30 - 60 minutes. It performed perfectly. With the chipping, the regulator is off, and I have gotten it up to 152 - handled very well at those speeds for So Cal roads - I have driven on the autobahn and know the difference at high speeds.
I am listing this car above what others are for a reason - this car will last much longer than the rest of the options you will see. The quality of the car is near great, better than good. The upgrades mean this car is basically, plug and play - there is not really much more you need to do to get speed out of the car. My next upgrade would have been a new, larger (or even stock) turbo, but everything else is done. My dream for the car was to take the back seats out and install a roll cage - turning it into the track car it is leaning towards.
If you are serious about buying a great used car, let me know, and I will provide many more pictures, showing all the details. The car is located in So Cal - you are responsible for getting it to you. --- OBO ---
