Description
1988 Volkswagen VW Golf GTI 16V Atlas Grey 3 Door Hatchback G60 Steels
Here for sale is my girlfriend's much loved Mk2 Golf GTi 16v, please see below for the extensive history and information relating to this car;
Good Points;
All original arches, and side mouldings, and all original badges intact
Smoked indicators front & side (suit the grey car very well) with M3 style smoked rear lights
German style pressed number plates, mounted in Autohaus Wolfsburg surrounds
OE style exhaust (subtle & classy)
Original 4 headlight grill, with uprated Osram Nightbreaker bulbs which are on relays for improved performance
Lowered 40mm on lowering springs (fitted in April '14) over adjustable Koni shock absorbers
During it's most recent MOT the tester commented that the car was solid underneath with no rust, and possibly the best condition Mk2 he had seen
There are no leaks in the car from either the doors, sunroof or boot
We have replaced the swirl pot, spark plugs & uprated plug leads, distributor cap & arm, oil pressure sensors, added a 99 programmable relay for the wipers, leather gear gaiter, K&N panel filter in airbox
The central locking works perfectly
The interior is all factory original, grey leather seats and door cards with the optional rear headrests
The electric windows and mirrors were a factory option
VDO gauges mounted in the centre console (oil pressure, amps & voltage)
Golfball gear knob & VW rubber floor mats
Panasonic 4x45W CD stereo
The toolkit is in the boot with the spare wheel
Any work that has been required on this car has been done, and it drives beautifully witha swift and precise gear change. It is a great example of a relatively unmolested car, with just a few tasteful modifications. What really sets this car apart is the amazing history that comes with it, from the original deposit receipt to the initial service invoices in Germany.
Below is a list of the documents to accompany the car;
Certificate of origin, deposit receipt, sales sheet (which includes the optional extras), TUV Prufbericht form (Nummer 1012), Export price list (which details optional extras chosen), handbook and numerous other items of original documentation, including some genuine German documents, relating to the vehicle
Bad Points;
There are some age related marks on the bodywork, but the most significant are some surface rust on the driver's door (picture included and the worst example), passenger door and just above the passenger side rear light cluster. Also the door locks have been changed so the car comes with two keys.
This is a great example of a near-classic car, and we will both be very sorry to see it go as we have owned her for 18 months, but with too many projects something has to go
If you have any questions or require any further pictures, please do not hesitate to contact me
A £100 DEPOSIT WILL BE REQUIRED WITHIN 24HOURS ON A SUCCESFUL OFFER
