I have owned this car for six years and it has been an extremely reliable means of transportation. It's well known that Volkswagen has proven its worth over the years; bottom line this car is safe, reliable and great on gas mileage. Not to mention it is just plain fun to drive.
The car just passed inspection in the summer. Car will come as is. Work completed within past year includes: clutch assembly, transmission resealed with new fluid, timing belt, complete brakes.
With an older car I feel it is best to be straightforward about what you are buying. Below is information about the best features of the car but I have also included some of the minor issues.
*General Specs*
Miles per gallon: 28 highway, 21 city (4 cylinder, regular gasoline)
Transmission: 5-speed manual. The clutch was replaced in 2014 so this is brand new.
Size: Seats 5 people. For a compact car, spacing and leg room is impressive when the car is full. Parallel parking is simpler because you can fit into smaller spots than most other cars with four doors (trust me on this one; it comes in handy during the summer months down the shore).
*Exterior*
Windows: No cracks or large scratches in windshield or windows. Windows are manual and all are functional.
Windshield wipers: Wiper blades were recently replaced and functional.
Tires: Good.
*Interior*
Heating/air conditioning: Both are functional.
Music: There is a USB port so your phone can be plugged in to play music. CD player and AM/FM radio with presets. The stereo system was professionally installed by Best Buy a few years ago.
Storage space: For a compact car, this has ample space. The trunk space is huge. Rear seats fold down completely creating a large amount of space for transporting items. I can fit an adult-sized bike (with removable tire) in this car if the seats are folded down.
Seats: All seatbelts work. Front seats are adjustable. Rear seats fold down completely. The interior is black cloth, no noticeable stains or tears. I am a non-smoker.
Center console: There are multiple compartments for sunglasses, money etc. The pop-out cup holder is broken, however I have a functional cup holder in the center console with 3 cup spots.
Locking system: Automatic locks with key. The car comes with two keys.
Owner's manual is included.
Car is located in South Jersey. Buyer responsible for pick-up/shipping.
