Description
1969 Karmann Ghia
Car runs beautifully, starts first time every time. Tracks straight down the road, no shaking or wobbling in the front end. Original Color with one repaint years ago. Interior is tan. Car shows 91,553 on odometer, subject to change as I drive it. 4 speed trans., Pop out rear windows. This car is garage kept, under a cover. New dash pads - upper and lower. No rust that I have ever found on the body other than a patch repair under the battery that was treated with POR 15; the repair is smaller than the area painted in black POR 15 (See photos). Floor pans are bone dry and solid.
It has been converted to electronic ignition. Everything works except the windshield washer pump. I replaced the part but it seems to only work when it wants to. Original AM radio was shipped to and repaired by a guy in California. Turn signals work and cancel, all lights, horn and electricals work just fine. The clock was removed and cleaned, it keeps great time. All latches and locks as well as pop out and roll down windows work as intended. A power port was added for phone charging. Shoulder harness seatbelts were added to replace the original front lap belts. I have the originals that will go with the car. Just replaced the entire clutch assembly. I have done TONS of work to this car.
Original front bumper has some pitting, light pitting on rear bumper. Could use a new headliner and carpet, they are original to the car. Front seats are good with no rips or tears, a repair was made to the headrest of the passenger seat. There is a small jump seat in the back (it has no seatbelts and the top of the seat should be recovered). There is a small chip in the windshield under the rear view mirror. Every once in awhile it will leak a small amount of fluid and I think it is trans. fluid coming from the rear passenger side driveshaft.
The carburetor air cleaner and breather is all there, unlike most Ghias of the vintage where it is missing.
Original Spare Tire, Jack and Owner's Manual. 2 Keys and clear, clean title in my name.
Oh, and the heat works great!
I have driven it 250 miles roundtrip to the beach on many occasions without any problems. That is where some of the photos were taken a few weeks ago.

This car is 49 years old so please do not have unrealistic expectations. I have tried to describe the car to the best of my ability. I am selling the car "as is" with no warranty expressed or implied. I recommend and would prefer that any potential buyers have this car inspected by a qualified technician. I do not want anyone to be dissatisfied with their purchase so I am encouraging a 3rd party inspection.
I will assist you in loading the car if you are going to hire a shipping company to ship the car but you are responsible for hiring the shipping company and all of the arrangements and responsibilities that are associated with the shipping company.
I will include a full tank of gas in the sale.
