Description
*****just some figures for people to work with. I have had a few people offer me silly figures on this Kombi, based on what they think they can buy one in USA for. Below is a guide on costs.
If you pay me $20000, less the ocean freight cost($3-3500 would get a mustang here. But due to the hight of a Kombi and not being able to double stack, it cost around $4-4500.) let's use $4000. Let's take that off the buy price.
That makes $16000, less Gst that you pay on the U.S. price($1454.50 in this case) once the vehicle hits Aust.
That makes $14545. Less the approx $1000 in all port and quarantine fees.
That makes $13545. Based on the current dolar buying 71 UScents, this equates to $9482 US dollars.
If you think you can buy one of these in US for under $10g, you are doing better than most. The days of cheap VW splitties is gone, this is their current world wide value.
Please bare this in mind when considering making an offer. I have had 5 of these things imported and have priced this fairly. I am more than happy to keep it and offer it for sale once complete. But if someone wants to make one of these their own, here is your chance.
This 1959 Kombi needs work to make it an amazing truck. All panels can be purchased via The Bus Stop in NSW. Basically, the bottom few inches all round are rotted. The nose cone is dented. Tailgate frames rough. Interior not bad.
It had a new 1600 fitted late last year in USA prior to being shipped here.
It comes with import approval. So get it sorted then drive it. The motor runs strong as.
I am in Warrnambool, south west Victoria. I am happy for you to view it. Or ask what ever questions you have. But please, don't waste my time if you do not actually wish to purchase something like this.
Check out the one on Bondi Speed Shop, to see how cool and expensive these can be.
I am not looking for offers. It has a starting price, that I the lowest I will take. If it does not sell, I will drop it at my mates panel shop and it will be fixed when ever it is done.
I also have a 1962 beetle that is listed. New paint last year. Heaps of new trim fitted. Super low with raider wheels. Just a few jobs to be completed. Runs real well. $12000.
I can be contacted via ebay and if we need to talk, I will give you my number.
If you win the auction, deposit of $500 within 24 hours. Full payment inside 1 week. If you don't pay, you will be reported. I've been mucked around before, don't do it.
Steve.
