Description
Ever thought owning a REAL KOMBI? With the price going up every single year, kombi ownership is getting harder and harder for those who want them most.
This is the holy grail of kombi's being a 1967 splitscreen. If has new safaris by Wolfsburg West, along with all the bells and whistles listed below.
It just received rego and and I put another $6k worth of work in the last month.
This is a USA original imported from Germany that I owned and drove for the last 3 years in California.
So here's the rundown:'
Spent Easy $50k overall, $25k just on mechanics doing everything imaginable, including the following:
- New 2 litre engine
- Freeway flyer transmission
- Dropped spindles and lowered
- Straight axle kit
- Safari Windows
- New seals all round
- New floor boards in rear
- New brakes
- New front beam
- Wide 5 rims to give it a 'modern classic' look, new tires
- Anti-Sway bar plus a whole lot more
The whole lot has been done so it rides like a real car and does 110 KPH no sweat. I'd be happy to keep the wheels if you want to take it back to original.
Bus was stripped back to metal and all rust removed costing me another $20k. This is as close as you can get to flawless but any 50 year old old car will not be perfect. Interior is 70% done, any buyer could lift the value another $20k or so by finishing the interior with a roof liner and some further attention. Car also has sound deadener throughout. There was some repair required on the underside for Australian roadworthy which is now complete.
I won't make money on this bus but other things in life have come up. "Buy it now" is $47,000 with VIC club registration.
Recommend you inspect, please don't low ball me, I know this car is worth $60-$70k but unfortunately it has to go.
If serious, please call me: 0415 196 953. I won't be taking $30k or a trade for your holden ute. Preferably I'd like to sell to an existing kombi lover or even someone who has always wanted one but doesn't have the $60k that these fetch elsewhere. I do have this advertised elsewhere and may pull down this ad at any time.
Thanks,
LACHY
