1980 Volkswagen Rabbit Lx

Hello I am selling today my 1980 Vw Rabbit Pick-up Truck. I purchased this truck in Washington from the second owner he was selling due to his elderly age and no longer able to drive it. I then brought the truck to my home here in San Pedro California and had the tired engine replaced with a rebuilt 1.6 liter diesel engine and a upgraded 5 speed transmission. Previously this was a 4 speed and now has better gearing with the updated 5 speed. You will get over 50mpg. Cruises smooth at 70mph keeps up with highway traffic and has great torque. everything mechanically is sound and wouldn't hesitate to drive this cross country if need be. The engine and the transmission are freshly rebuilt, not a junk motor from another car. Every seal is new, the radiator is new, new clutch, diesel pump was also rebuilt. This is a very reliable truck now. The accessories such as the starter, alternator, etc. are still the same ones from the original engine as the previous owner said he had got those replaced not long before he sold me the truck. It has a new Optima red top battery. I have driven this truck approx 1000 miles since the rebuilt engine and trans where put in and it drives great. Now this was a work truck and it shows. It has some rust areas in the rear bed and some on the front windshield frame. The shock towers are solid no rust. I will be including in the sale a rust free window frame that was cut out from another rabbit. Tires are good I would say 70% life left in them. Originally Sky blue, the previous owner had it sprayed to his liking in this trio of colors you see now. The original blue shows through some spots more in the engine bay as this area was power washed. Headlights, rear blinkers, back lights, Speedo gauge, diesel gauge, temp gauge all work however the brake lights, dash clock, and windshield wiper recently stopped working all together. I read that this is due to a blown relay or maybe a ground lose somewhere, I have not investigated the matter however it should be an easy fix. I'm sure I forgot a few things as I am no car sales man, please ask all questions or concerns and I will answer them promptly. The rebuilt engine and trans alone cost me more than my asking price. Selling due to the lack of space. Comes with a clear Washington Title and keys pictured.
