vw type 3 fastback 1967

The good…It’s an early fastback, 1600 TLS. runs well, brakes are good, with a little grabbing. Paint has patina, and even though not original, has a certain character. Mangel wheels, with genuine Coker white walls, of which two are suspect. It’s lowered, and mostly complete. Pan has little rust, not game to say rust free, just in case. Believe it is a 1600 twin port, with dual carbs, been serviced, new leads, new fuel lines, tuned and adjusted, start well, and runs good. Took it for a short test drive, and goes reasonable. Has a type 4 muffler, if that helps.
The bad.. Interior needs work, carpets are there, but rather worn out in places, currently stored in the front. Right door card is wrecked, and left is somewhat OK. Left front guard has a bad gap where fitted, and headlight is pushed in. the seats are worn, (don’t you love a good understatement), missing and broken bits and pieces, it’s all in the photos, am not trying to hide anything.
The ugly.. Rust in 3 places, under the windscreen, on the rear right guard, and the sill on the driver’s side, all shown in the photos.
More good, comes with parts needed for restoration, apart from the sill. The sale includes all four spare guards, part repaired from another car, that’s being wrecked, they are blue in colour, but are straight, and without rust holes. To repair under the windscreen, is a cut from the other car that could be welded in, if you don’t want to just bog it up, (tell me where you want the cut, and it will be organised.) A second hand windscreen is included, as the current one has scratched from the wipers, and needs to be replaced for a roadworthy.
Happy to negotiate, if you don’t want all the other bits, but prior to end of auction.
