Volkswagen 1600 Super Bug L (1973) 2D Sedan Manual (1.6L - Carb) Seats

1973 SUPER BUG L ( BEETLE) Totally original and unmodified. NO wide wheels, NO rear wing, NO fancy seats, TOTALLY ORIGINAL. This Beetle is not restored and just look at it !!!. ENGINE: Rebuilt in 2008 with new pistons and Barrels, modified to accept unleaded fuel, engine starts easily and idles smoothly, Pulls well once underway.There is no oil leaks under the engine or gearbox.( very rare apparently ) GEARBOX: smooth changes and slots into each gear easily, we have recently changed the selector bushes to remove any slackness in the selector. TYRES: 4 near new MAXXIS 165/80/15 radials. INTERIOR: the rear seats look like they have never been sat on !!!, The front seats are showing cracks around the shoulders, mainly the passengers seat. I have just purchased a brand new floor carpet in lovely Charcoal. Before fitting the carpet I have taken photos of the floor to show there is NO RUST in the interior. PAINT WORK: pretty sad, very dull and lacking shine but then again the car is 42 years old .Some panels have been touched up over the years but is quite presentable, could do with a repaint eventually but its certainly nothing that would need doing urgently. SUSPENSION: I have just had the front lower ball joints replaced and the rear shocks were done not long ago, the rest of suspension is fine. The car is still on its original number plates that were attached to the car in 1973. ( Black and White). We have a HUGE folder of receipts for jobs done going back to 1973. We even have the original purchase receipt when the car was bought new. in 1973. There is hours of reading just in the pile of receipts. Queensland Rego. is up till 17/7/15. ALTHOUGH THE CAR WILL BE SOLD UNREGISTERED WITHOUT A SAFETY CERTIFICATE ( NO EXCEPTIONS ). I have had a mechanic look to see what needed doing. There are only minor things like light bulbs, a driveshaft boot, and the horn is intermittent.You will search Australia and still not find a more ORIGINAL and UNMODIFIED Beetle. Yes, it needs some work but it has been on our roads since 1973 !!!!. I have taken 29 photos in all of the interior and exterior. Anyone needing more photos only needs to ask.
