Description

This is Gilda, a 1992 240 GL with a 5-speed manual M47, and B230F with LH3.1. I'm the third person to have her, and I am a good friend of the second, who knew the first.
Please know that I want to sell to someone who appreciates and is familiar with these cars and is able to work on it. Please also do not hesitate to ask for as much information or photos as you need to feel comfortable with the purchase.
I have a binder of service records. Clean title, passes inspection every year. I have driven her from Boston to central New Jersey, and up to Maine multiple times without any issues. And she doesn't drink oil. Every mechanic that's seen her has complimented her condition.
Gilda's gone about 290,000 miles at this point, with about 10,000 of those miles by me. She's spent the vast majority of her life in Virginia, Montana, Tennessee, and New Hampshire before moving to Boston. I know the second owner had put Bilstein shocks in, new tires and replaced the brake pads and rotors about 15,000 miles ago, and I believe put in a hotter cam than the M. They put in an IPD strut tower brace and rear sway bar. The odometer had stopped at about 278,000 iirc, and I had to reset it when I fixed it, so it currently reads in the mid 4,000s.

Any work that has been done has been done by me with a service manual and a torque wrench where called for. Otherwise, I've gone to shops that have experience with these cars for more technical needs (ex: carrier bearing replacement).
All below have been replaced by me since 2019 (most within last 6,000 miles). I use Volvo, Bosch, and Better than OE parts whenever it was reasonable to do so. Always sourced through IPD, Skandix, and FCP Euro

Known issues:
-central locking system's connection with the front passenger lock works intermittently.
-shifter bushings ( style="color:rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family:"Bitstream Vera Serif", "Times New Roman", serif; font-size:medium; font-style:normal; font-variant-ligatures:normal; font-variant-caps:normal; font-weight:400; letter-spacing:normal; orphans:2; text-align:start; text-indent:0px; text-transform:none; white-space:normal; word-spacing:0px; background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255); text-decoration-style:initial; text-decoration-color:initial;">-slight warp in front right disc, doesn't impact performance.
-steering rack is a little stiff turning left occasionally.
-the blower motor needs to be replaced. it runs on setting #1 (of 4) fine, and usually #2, but #3 and #4 are squeaky.
-a/c is complete but semi-functional, should be looked over. i never used it because i like the windows down, and the blower motor complicates it. condenser fan could use a refresh.
-slight imbalance in a rear wheel, causes a vibration over 80mph, 70mph is the best cruising speed anyway.
-light rust around the passenger front headlight casing, and some under the rear driver's side passenger floor pan (see pics for both).
-the clearcoat.
