Description
1965 VOLVO P1800S. Original red car. Sound and in running and driving condition. Clear California title in my name.
Speedo reads 33420 miles but these Volvos are very strong cars and famous for going many many miles so actual mileage on this 50 year old classic is unknown.
The paint is dull and cracked and there are some signs of repair around the rear license plate and the left rear fender has fresher paint. There are no signs of serious body damage but there are some areas on the front that appear to have some filler. One rocker has a bit of rust in one spot and there are small rust holes in the trunk area from sitting water (see photos).
Original carpets and rear seat. Front seats have been re-upholstered. Dash is nice. Tach is not working. Carbs have been up-graded to a twin choke Webber.
Brand new master cylinder and rebuilt Girling servo.
4 brand new tires. I have lost the jack, jack handle, lug nut wrench and plastic pouch but I have ordered these parts from "P1800dot com" and if I do not receive them before the car is collected I will forward them to the new owner. (supplier is closed till 26 January).
It was my intention to restore this car but unexpected health problems have made me rethink my options. Playing around with classic cars is on hold. I am also selling my 1954 Citroen Traction Avant that I have owned for nearly 30 years ( see eBay listing) and just sold my Jensen Healey on eBay.
A complete brand new interior panel kit with headliner costs about $1000 from a Volvo specialist (P1800dotcom).
Car needs TLC but is well worth fixing. I have put a fair reserve price.
You are welcome to visit in Tarzana (San Fernando Valley part of Los Angeles).
