Description
This car has been with me since it was 1.5 years old with only 7,000Km on the clock, prior to that it was owned by Volvo as a company car.
Features:
- 140 kW, 248 Nm, 5-Cylinder engine (not 4!) with 5-speed manual transmission.
- Larger 16" Volvo alloy wheels from turbo models
- CD, Tape, AM/FM stereo
- Fog lights
- 6 Airbags (Front, Passenger, Side & Curtains)
- ABS with brake force distribution (EBD)
- Log book, floor mats, spare wheel, emergency triangle, jack and tools etc.
- Quality Yokohama tyres which have plenty of tread!
- Just re-registered, nothing to pay for 12 months!!!!
It is a 5-speed manual which is extremely rare in these cars and makes the car so much more fun to drive than the automatic models. The engine was tuned by BSR in Sweden which gives it more torque and has a sporty sounding exhaust which adds to the fun for a younger driver (standard exhaust is included). A diagnostic tool is also included so that you can perform your own repairs if you desire.
The car has never been in any accidents with the exception of hitting some rubbish on the road which lead to the radiator replacement listed below.
Mechanically this is a very well maintained car with required servicing always fully completed and plenty of additional work to keep the car in good driving condition, a rough history of additional work is below:
- Warranty replacement of clutch due to oil seal recall (~50,000Km)
- Rear shock absorbers replaced (~85,000Km)
- Front shock absorbers replaced (~100,000Km)
- Timing belt change (~115,000Km)
- Engine/transmission subframe bushings replaced (~120,000Km)
- Radiator and AC condensor replaced w/ lifetime warranty (~120,000km)
- Additional oil/coolant changes in excess of schedule
The Interior / Exterior of this car is showing its age. This is not a car which you will have to worry about in a shopping centre car park or a bump while learning to drive - the exterior has plenty of small door dents, key scratch marks on side & bonnet and a scrape low on the LHS side doors (see picture). There is a dent in the bonnet which could be easily popped out. Inside the car is neat but some of the plastic/vinyl bits are cracked such as gear lever and handbrake boots and lid covering cupholders. Cloth on door trims has sagged a bit but none of the seats or carpets are damaged/torn.
Overall in the 10 years I have owned this car it has always stated and has never left me stranded. You can't buy a stronger car for the money.
