Description

1954 Willys CJ3B Mahindra. R/hand drive . 4 wheel drive,3 speed +reverse manual. Vehicle was manufactured in Ohio and shipped to Mahindra Tractor firm in India where it was assembled and put into service in the Peace Corp., till 1984,where it was brought back to USA and purchased by a Jeep Dealer in NYC area. Stored for 28 years. Purchased in the Hudson area NYC,brought to Vermont where it was refreshed over a year period. New carburetor, electronic distributor,a one wire alternator installed. New Radiator and fuel pump, water pump and belt. All new brakes and brake lines and hoses. A complete 100% wiring harness was installed, new master cylinder and gauges. New rebuilt starter to complete the primary and secondary circuits. Vehicle has 5 Michelen M/S tires which came with the vehicle. The vehicle starts right up and doesn't smoke at all. Drives nicely for a vehicle that age, which means it is geared low and speeds of 35 to 40 is what it likes.(MPH). The odometer reading is not correct and I don't have a clue what the mileage is, but I was told the engine was totally rebuilt in the recent past and by the way it runs I have no doubt about it. Vehicle drives well and shifts well. The only think I can mention is third gear if you don;t have the rpms up just right you will get a very slight gear grind. After you drive it only a few miles you can learn what this vehicle wants and this will not be an issue as you can put it in without any problems. I have oil changed this several times and see no issues other than a drip here and there but see no need to change anything as this doesn't affect the vehicle or fluid levels in any way. The body is in good condition and the frame is very solid. There has been use of body filler in the vehicle and it is clear it was to cover dings and small dents it has acquired over the 60 years of it's life. I take it to car shows and drive it around and it gets attention. This vehicle was featured in Hemmings Vintage Car Mag. many years ago and I have the slides to show this. Shipping is the purchasers responsibility and I will not take part in any discussions, other than assisting anybody with the loading of the vehicle.Payment deposit through paypal, Vehicle sold with bill of sale, sold as-is, Vermont is a non titled state for antique vehicles. Some areas like the hood area has small cracks in filler and could be left alone or refreshed at your liesure.Personally I am going to leave this survivor just like it is.
