Description

WW2 Military Ford Jeep GPW 1943
This "veteran" World War II Jeep served in the Pacific at an airforce base in Guam. It returned to the US in 1949 and was registered for the first time in California. The sole registered owner of this vehicle (up until the year 2010) was a veteran - a Colonel of the US Army. In 2010, I came into possession of this vehicle and restored it. It had 6165 miles on the odometer at that time, today it has 8270 miles and drives like new and is close to 100% all-original [it has four new tires, brake tubes, canvas, paint, battery, gaskets and other minor bits and pieces]. All serial numbers on this vehicle match and are correct (engine, frame, description plate, and hood); the number is: GPW98036. This is a vehicle for collectors: it had a star with wings insignia on the hood which is a rarity as nearly all jeeps of this period only had a star. Included with the vehicle is a picture book documenting the stages of restoration as well as archive photographs from the battle in Guam. Also included is a copy of the original title from 1949 as well as a contemporary clear title.
