Description
1968 TR250 for sale
Excellence in performance and handling - runs perfectly and is a joy to drive.
The original motor was completely rebuilt 6000 miles ago in 1983 (by Ron Parker in Montreal, the same person who used to work on Gilles Villeneuve's cars before he headed to Formula 1). The engine is perfectly balanced, has a cam to match the Webers so it runs very smoothly. It is estimated to be in the neighbourhood of 160+ HP. You can drive in everyday traffic at slower speeds but it has a lot of spunk when you want to open it up for highway cruising, merging or passing. Fourth gear overdrive provides the ability to cruise at 75mph at 3000 RPM on your local interstate. A very tight suspension allows exceptional handling and lots of fun when the roads get curvy.
This car had a full off frame restoration in the early 80's. There is no rust on this car! With 5 coats of Ferrari Red paint and 2 coats of clear, it looks just as good as it drives! . As with the engine, the body was fully restored in 1983 with new bodies panels imported from Europe, professionally installed then painted. The car was put into storage in 1984 for the next 26 years. It also includes many upgrades (listed below) with the addition of the Surrey top last year (Fiberglass from Revington TR in the UK.)
The entire underside - frame, floor panels, engine bay, inside fenders - front and back are fully undercoated with a black water resistance covering.
The car looks beautiful, turns heads and is a great conversation piece wherever it goes. I often hear people say it looks pristine but there are a few very small nicks in the paint that prevent me listing it as such. This is not a garage queen but a well-restored, well-kept example of a classic British Roadster.
I have the Professional Appraisal from 4 years ago before I added the Surrey top: $45,900
