Description

1958 Triumph TR3A. Mileage 63,400 thought to be original but not documented. The history that I know and have verified is that it was purchased by a retired man along with four (4) other TR3A’s.His intent was to restore all five (5) and give to his children and grandchildren which he did for four (4) of them. This one was never finished because he developed Parkinsons. He partially restored this one including the engine, transmission (?) and interior.
There is no evidence of any prior significant body damage. The engine is a 1962 by the engine number. It has a red block indicating that it is a rebuild. I worked on this car with the “travelling mechanic” with the Houston Triumph Club. The compression test shows160 PSI in all four cylinders. This engine probably has only the 700 miles that I have out on it. It runs out very strong.
Work I have done includes an entire front end rebuild, new battery, new tires, new convertible top and boot cover, wind screens, hand rail, wheel chrome beauty rings, new aluminum fuel tank, new brakes, new or rebuilt gages, all of which work except the fuel gage. The sending unit is also new so I am not sure what the problem is. In any event this is not an expensive or complicated fix. The wiring is not new but has all been inspected and gone through. Added a front sway bar. Original side curtains in good shape. New TR3 badge (not cheap). Heater does not work but you do not need, or even want, one. Wipers do not work, but this again should be an easy fix. I do not drive it in the rain. There is a fine crack in the passenger side windshield. The windshield has an inside and outside glass. Crack is only on the outside and has been professionally filled/sealed. Can hardly see it and is shown on one close-up picture.
I am selling because we have decided to get an RV and an old jeep to pull and start travelling. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I will coordinate with you and/or shipping company.
