Description
1974 Triumph TR6 up for grabs with this listing. I have history dating to early 2000s with this magnificient sports car. I bought this car with a smoking engine. I quickly figured out that it was the head that had problem. I installed a new cylinder head. At that time, I also rebuilt the clutch and the brake cylinders. I installed Borg Warner Clutch kit that shifted efficiently at that time. Also installed a cowl engine trans cover. I also installed a dual outlet Monza Exhaust that is still on the car.Soon after, I decided to do a major tear-down restoration. I didn't go far down to the frame. Everything from the top to the floor were not spared. All interior carpet and seat were removed and re-upholstery. Floor and body all sanded down for new painting It is painted in Pearl White that is still looking amazing to day as it was then. However, there is couple major paint crack on the passenger side fender with surface rust and a very small cracks on the hood. Even the rims were sanded and custom painted with hub cap contrasting the rims. I installed Roll Bars, and an after-market superior top material. Unlike the weak nylon material that came as the convertible top, I got what was the best available dark brown material that is still looking brand new today. It has the zipable rear window.
While most of the interior can come back to great condition with thorough cleaning, the dashboard wood will need to be change. It has cracked all over from years of sitting. Although, I have not started the car in over ten years, I don't think there should any major problem to this car other than a thorough service and probably check or rebuild the brakes and clutch and should be ready to go. It was a fun car when I finished working on it. I had an offer to let it go then for $15K. I was collecting them then.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
I was driving this car on the freeway one afternoon when my radiator fan along with the fan clutch spurn out of it socket. I was faced with either changing the crankshaft or the engine as this destroyed the screw for the fan clutch on crankshaft end. Luckily, I found guy who had his TR6 wrecked in an accident on the track. His engine was built for racing. I bought it off the entire car for $3500 and just transferred the engine to this car. So essentially you have a engine that was to race with a lot of power and in excellent condition. After the engine transfer, I only drove it a few times before covering it up. I am letting this car go for less than I had into it. Well ask all your questions by text to my mail here or to my lne +19095107937. Inspect the picture to see some of the history of this car with me. Then throw me your offers. Reasonable offers will be honored. I am letting go some of my priced collection. I also have a 1972 Triumph Stag with a frozen engine but excellent body and interior if interested, a 1978 Porsche 911 Targa with 3.0 engine and a wide body conversion. The rest are listed here already. Good luck
