Description

For sale is a 1972 Triumph TR6 in Damson red with 63XXX miles. It is a 4 speed manual without overdrive. Engine is an inline 6 cylinder with dual carburetors and 2498cc of power.

Car History:

I am the believed 3rd owner.. Prior to that, owner #2 had the car from the early 2000s. He was a tr6 geek and updated a lot of the engine components, including the radiator hoses, valve cover, electronic ignition coil, points, belts, battery, hood latch, rim covers, clutch slave and master, and standard maintenance. Original owner kept it garaged for most of its life. It had a minor restoration completed on it in the early 2000’s.

Work Done

Prior Owner: radiator hoses, valve cover, electronic ignition coil, belts, rim covers, points, battery, hood latch, clutch slave and master, suspension rebuilt by british mechanic shop in Grand rapids MI.

Recently done-
all brakes replaced, high torque starter, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, plug wires, timing, gear box oil, alternator tension arm, fuel sending unit, new bulb style headlights (not the encased originals), high and low tone horns, license plate lamp seal, new tires, passenger visor, new key, gear box plug, alternator, and standard maintenance.

Parts Included

I made a large purchase through Victoria British of parts I thought may need replacing for the rest of the car's life. I kept all the original parts and they are included. I put everything on the car I could so far, a lot more of these will end up on the car throughout the year/winter:

-Windscreen chrome trim
-Front enamel badge with hardware
-Fuel pump (current one works 100% and does not replacing)
-3 in 1 clutch kit with mounting plug (current one works 100% and does not need replacing)
-Radiator overflow bottle with hose
-Radiator hoses for behind dashboard
-New Spin on oil filter adapter
-2 oil filters
-2 air filters
-Fuel filter
-Dashboard knobs
-New wipers and blades
-Wood veneer, stick-on and cut out, for dashboard
-Tachometer cable (worn tachometer cable currently disconnected)
-Oil, gear oil, lead substitute
-Cloth car cover
-OE starter (OE = Original Equipment/part)
-OE Windshield fluid reservoir
-OE pads and rotors (when replaced, the parts were in great shape and have a lot of life left on them)
-OE encased headlamps
-OE key set
-OE AM stereo (cassette player in it is currently disconnected)
-OE plug wires
-OE rim trim rings
-OE spare rim (tire is old)
-OE owner's manual
-OE emergency kit (jack, lug wrench, in plastic case)
-OE hoses
-And a few others I can't remember

Overview

Car is in great shape and is used as a good weather only vehicle, no winters. It is free of rust and has low miles. The underneath is very clean as well. Drives comfortably at highway speeds. Is stored in a heated garage year-round. It looks excellent, runs as it should, and has no major mechanical defects. That said, it is a 46 year old car. Convertible top has two very small tears the size of a shirt button, and is barely visible. Blower motor is out, not sure if it is a fuse or what. Paint appears original. It polishes up nicely but up close you will see defects, a respray is not needed. It is a survivor in that aspect. No tears in the seats, no cracks in the dash. All lights, wipers etc. work as they should.
