Description
Westfield 2.0 C20LET,
The Car has undergone some major work to bring it up to the very high specification it is now. The original C20XE engine was outrun by a S2000 soon after I bought the car which wasn't amusing considering this is supposed to be a race car! so this was swapped out for the turbo version of the same engine and as you will see from the photos about everything else has been upgraded accordingly.
Last Winter;
C20LET engine was bought to replace the C20XE and was rebuilt using;
ACL main bearingsARP rod boltsARP head studs Uprated oil pumpPiston ringsBores honedUprated steel timing belt pulleysAuto timing belt tensioner deleteCoscast head Steel headgasket
Oil separation tank installed which returns oil back to the sump thus removing the need to check a catch can
Mk2 Escort (english axle) rear axle was removed, LSD removed and the backlash set with new gaskets / oil seal
Odyssey racing battery
Dated MBE ECU removed and Omex 600 ECU installed
Harnessing solution wiring loom integrated into the Cars wiring making an extremely tidy install
Radtec Intercooler, radiator and fan kit - This is the kit used by Westfield for the sport turbo and is a lovely piece of engineering
Soft bits for Sevens hood and tonneau
New this previous winter,
Protech coilovers built specifically for this car
OPB pedal box installed to get a nicer throttle feel
Compomotive CXR wheels fitted - 4.9kg each
Toyo R888s 185 front, 205 rear - balances the car perfectly
Simpson race exhausts repackable silencer
Turbo rebuilt by AET turbos in England and has uprated seals and bearings
Rear calipers overhauled with new seals, discs and pads
Front anti roll bar fitted - Playskool motorsport
Cerametallic clutch
Widetrack front suspension fitted with all new bushes
Heavy duty slightly slower quick steering rack fitted as it was just too twitchy on the road at speed
New Windscreen as there were a few chips
Carbon Dash fitted
Carbon canards and stone guards fitted
Painted Diamond White in our own professional Bodyshop using Glasurit 22 line Solid Paint
Only thing I can think of to not be uprated were the front 4 pot Wilwood brakes
This is a seriously sorted car, very fast and very reliable. Nothing has been done the cheap easy way. Standard boost pressure for this engine is 0.6 bar, It is currently set to run 0.8 bar which gives an unstressed 250BHP. The torque makes the car very drivable and is a joy when compared to the gutless naturally aspirated engine before. Genuine reason for selling is to build a more wife friendly MX5 turbo! The car is priced to sell and anyone to view will be very impressed.
Would Consider a part exchange for an extremely clean MX5
Many thanks
William
